Using your white pen for Practical Scrappers

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Can you believe it's the last day of August?  Where oh where is this year going?  While I do love the fall time and the upcoming holidays so much, I still can't get over how fast time seems to be flying by.

Anyway, onto my card for today, which is for this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers.  The challenge is to bust out those white pens and make some magic.

I chose to use my pen rather simply and outlined my card's perimiter, framing my sentiment.
***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI, Greeting Farm
Other:  Nesties, white pen, PTI buttons

Be sure and check out the Practical Scrappers blog all this week because there is some amazing artwork over there.  Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to come take a peek over here and say hi.  I truly appreciate it.

Can you believe it's Monday already?  I've told you this before but I'm pretty sure that they come around more often than other days of the weeks.

This week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts is to make a sympathy card.  I honestly don't make very many of these and usually end up buying one.  My card is a larger one measuring 6x6.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  Nesties, PTI buttons, CTMH adhesive pearls

As always, thanks so much for stopping by my spot in the world.  Sorry for the pun but it means the world to me.  Have a terrific Monday.

Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenge #39

Sunday, August 29, 2010

It's that time of the week again.  Time for Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenge.  I'm so happy that more of you are playing along with us and I hope you feel good about getting your Christmas cards done early.

Our challenge this week is to use lots of sparkle and bling.  I chose to use some very pretty sparkly white cardstock that I got at Hobby Lobby.  It's so pretty IRL.  I just love the shimmer it gives.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI, RAK image

Other:  Nesties, snowflake punch, PTI buttons

Make sure and check out what the other designers have for you.  I am so lucky to be working with such talented and nice ladies.  Hi Sparkle, Peggy, Steph, and Shanna!

Can you believe it's the last Saturday in August?  Well you know on Saturday's that a new Unscripted Sketches design is unveiled.  This week's sketch was a bit challenging for me.  I'd like to take another crack at it and see what I can come up with a second time.

Other:  PTI buttons and die, CTMH waxy flax

Thanks for your visit and the love you give.  Your comments mean so much to me.  Have a great day!

Fluttering by on a Friday

Friday, August 27, 2010

Thank goodness it's Friday!!!  There's something about Friday's that are just so much better than the rest of the workdays.  I wonder why.  LOL

I've been wanting to play in Danni's Flutterby Wednesday challenges for some time now and finally made this time this week.  The challenge this week is anything goes as long as your creation has a butterfly, fairy or angel on it.  I also used this week's sketch over at 2S4Y.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  DCWV

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  MS butterfly punches, stickles

Have any big plans for the weekend?  I've got some girlfriends coming over for scrapbook night so YEAH for that.  For tomorrow, there's a mountain of laundry and housework that needs done.  I'm also hoping to maybe take the kids to the pool or something fun like that.  Whatever comes your way, have a good one.

You are a Doll

Thursday, August 26, 2010

I made this card awhile back to share on the Practical Scrappers Message Board for its anniversary celebration.  The card was based off a sketch that was given, which was super fun to use.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI

Other:  PTI buttons and Color Coutre

Are you having a good week?  I'm swamped during the day with work and then swamped at night with kids' activities but it's all good.  Better to be busy than to be bored, I suppose.  :)  Have a wonderful day!

First Day of School 2010 Pictures

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Here's some pictures from the first day of school last week.  Christopher started 2nd grade and Reynna started 5th grade.  Both were super excited to be heading back to school.

That's all I have for today.  Have a terrific Wednesday.

Practical Scrappers--Lace Cardstock

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Hi friends.  I'm happy to report that Monday is over.  In case you didn't know that.  LOL.  In any event, I have a fun card for this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers which is to use lace cardstock.  I decided to take my MS border punch and cut out a couple of strips that I thought kind of looked like lace.

I've really taken to the pink/green combo so you might be seeing it some more soon.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI

Stamps:  CTMH, Greeting Farm
Other:  MS border punch, kaiser gemstones

So I decided to let Reynna join Christopher in taking karate on Monday nights but of course their classes don't meet at the same time, because of the age difference.  So 2 1/2 hours of my Monday nights are now spoken for with karate.  I got both kids gees, which is the official term for the jackets/pants, last night and they both looked super cute.  I'm planning on taking pics of them wearing their new gees next week and will share them then.

Alrighty then, thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous Tuesday.  And don't forget to play along with us this week at Practical Scrappers

Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenge #38

Sunday, August 22, 2010

Good morning.  The challenge this week at Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenge is to make a vintage Christmas/holiday card.  I have to admit that I struggled with this as I don't really ever do vintage.  In the end, I found some paper in my stash that I thought would work and went with that.  As you can tell, this is CAS in its truest form.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  CTMH
Stamps:  PTI
Other:  CTMH button and waxy flax, MS border punch
So, have you made the commitment yet to get started on your Christmas cards?  Think about it, then join us over at Sparkle Creations Christms Card Challenges.  As always, thanks so much for your visit.

Happy Saturday to you.  It's been busy around here as the kids started school a couple of days ago.  There's a great sketch this week at Unscripted Sketches and I hope you'll have a chance to play along with us.

I hope you'll check out what the other designers have for you today.  And then have yourself a most fabulous Saturday.

Happy Friday to you.  Woo Hoo for almost making it to the weekend.  My card today is for this week's Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge which is a sketch challenge.  What a great sketch it is.  I used Cupcake Ruby, which I think is my most favorite stamp from Sparkle's line.

You are a Blessing to Me

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Good morning.  It's the first day of school for my kiddos so it's been a pretty crazy week around here.  Devin started back on Monday.  I now have to wake up an hour earlier than I have been in the summer due to school being back in session.  Blech.  5:45 comes around much too early.

Anyway, I made this card a few weeks ago and thought I'd share.  I was just having some fun with my felt and cuttlebug.
***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Signature Greetings

Other:  PTI Color Coutre and felt, Cuttlebug

Yeah for tomorrow being Friday.  For everyone reading this, I hope your day is filled with many good things.

Stitching for Practical Scrappers

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Good morning.  It's time for another challenge at Practical Scrappers.  This week's challenge is to use stitching on your project. You'll have to look close to see my stitching.  It's blending in with the paper.

I know I've said this before but I think it is worth mentioning again.  I love making my own felt flowers.  I just think they are so pretty.  All I need is more colors of felt and I'd be set.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI

Stamps: PTI
Other:  PTI felt, buttons, dies

Christopher starts fall soccer today.  He's done soccer the past two springs but we haven't done a fall session yet.  Hopefully the weather is a bit better than it is during the spring here in Colorado.  We had some chilly practices and games last spring.

Well, thanks for dropping by this fine day.  You know I appreciate it so much.

While I was at work the other day, my daughter Reynna also made a card for this challenge.  If you get a minute, would you think about checking it out and leaving her some love?  I know she'd be tickled.  I have to say that I think she did a fabulous job and I'm so proud of her and her abilities. She did all of it without any guidance or help.  Thanks so much and have a great day!

As always, thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Wednesday.
