Wishing you a Speedy Recovery for Frantic Stamper

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

Happy Wednesday friends. I have a card to share with you today using some fun dies from Frantic Stamper

I started by inking my background with a background stamp linked below. I then die cut my bowls and whisk, both from the Mixing Bowls & Whisk die set from Frantic Stamper. I stamped the bowls with a fun pattern to dress them up a bit.

I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from a Lawn Fawn set and then added some sparkling clear sequins.

Thanks so much for your visit. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Feel Better

Monday, December 28, 2015

I have another card using some left overs from this card and this card to share today. I pieced together the background and then colored in my focal image from a super cute Lawn Fawn set.

In case you missed it before, here's how I assembled the various pieces to the card front. I took the frame from the die cut and then laid it on top of a Stick It sheet (linked below) and then trimmed around it. This left a nice sticky surface for me to in-lay all the inside pieces. This product was super easy to work with and I'm glad I had some on hand.

Blessings to each of you.

Get Well Soon for Clearly Whimsy Stamps

Friday, February 27, 2015

I have a fun and cheerful get well card for you today. I used the super cute band-aid image from the Get Well Soon set from Clearly Whimsy Stamps. I stamped it in multiple colors and then went in with the smaller stamp for the inside portion of the band-aid.  Some score lines above and below add some extra interest. My card is also for the anything goes challenge at Sister Act Card Challenge.

Thanks for your visit. Take good care friends.

Creative Blog Hop

Monday, February 9, 2015

What an honor it was to be asked by Marsha from Coffee Pot Stamping to participate in this fun hop. Marsha is on the DT with me for Christmas Card Challenges and is a talented artist.

The Creative Blog Hop works in a rather interesting way.  You are nominated to join the blog hop and the only requirements are to nominate two others to follow you on the next Monday and to answer four questions about yourself and your creative process.  Nothing to it!

Before I get to the questions and answers, here's a card I have to share with you today. A CAS card with lots of white space. Hmmm... you might see me talk about this below in question #2.  :)

There are the four questions those of us who participate are asked as part of the Creative Blog Hop.

1.  What are you working on now?  I am the DT coordinator for Christmas Card Challenges so I make Christmas cards throughout the year.  I am also on the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Design Team and am working on some cards for the next release.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?  I don't know that my work really differs from many of those out there. The majority of my cards tend to be on the CAS side. I love the look of layers and fun images colored with Copics but I struggle with those areas. You'll find lots of white space on my cards with simple designs.

3.  Why do you create what you do?  I sit in front of a computer all day (life as a CPA) and find that the creative outlet of making cards (and scrapbook pages in a previous life) help me to unwind and use the other part of my brain -- hence my blog sub-title. I love to create cards and send them to family and friends. I want them to know I love them and appreciate them and I know how fabulous it is to receive happy mail and I want to bring a smile to those I send my cards to.

4.  How does your creative process work? I will usually just sit down and start playing. I usually have a specific stamp set or die that I want to work with and then it just goes from there. Lately, I've been noticing that my mojo or crafty desire has been missing for several days at a time. But at other times, things are clicking right and I can make a few cards in a day that I love. I love challenges but rarely play in them anymore. I more craft when I can and then will blog my cards and spread them out over the next month or so.

And, now it's time to share with  you the two people I've nominated to participate in the Creative Blog Hop next Monday, February 16th.

First is Jessica from All the Sparkle. Jessica is an extraordinary card maker and makes the cutest cards. I've also nominated Donna from Donna's Crafty Place who is also an amazing card maker and does amazing things with her mixed media.
