Happy Anniversary for Frantic Stamper

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

I'm back today with another card featuring dies from Frantic Stamper. When I saw the Blooming Roses Card Panel die, I had to have it. Just look at how it shines below. It is a very intricate die so you will want to use some sort of metal shim with your die cutting machine. But it cut beautifully, even with the Stick it product that I adhered to the back of the glitter card stock.  After running the die through my machine, I was able to easily poke out all the negative pieces.

I really wanted the die to take center stage on the card and didn't want to cover too much of it up. I decided to add a gold embossed sentiment on some vellum. I then added just a touch of color with some coral enamel hearts. These allowed for a bit of color and embellishment but also served another purpose in that some of them helped keep the vellum adhered to the card panel.

Happy Anniversary Devin

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Devin and I are celebrating 15 years of marriage today and here is the card I made him.  I had found these papers awhile back and knew that I wanted to use them on Devin's anniversary card.  He teaches geography and loves it so I thought this paper was perfect.
Devin, I love you with all my heart. You are my best friend and here is to another 15 years plus eternity.

A Heart that Loves is Always Young

My card today is what I gave my parents last month for their 40th wedding anniversary.  Very simple design so not much to say about it.

Take care friends. May you be blessed this day.

Today's card is for Karen's sweet Sunday sketch challenge. She's been creating some great sketches. I had a lot of fun with this sketch and was cruising along with my circle elements but then I was stumped for how I could finish off the card. Nothing looked right to me. In the end, I decided that some organdy ribbon with a touch of hollyhock ricrac ribbon could be added. I also used a size of card that I rarely do -- 5x7. All products are from CTMH.

A quick turnaround for a challenge

Monday, November 10, 2008

Today's card is for Marjorie's color challenge that she posted just this morning. This might be the quickest turnaround I've ever had for her challenges. Colors chosen were juniper, ponderosa pine, desert sand, and bamboo. I had intended to use all four colors but at the last minute substitued the flowers for the small pieces of bamboo cardstock that I was originally planning to use.

You can't tell at all in the picture but I scored the front of the card twice right above the ponderosa pine piece and once right below. A subtle element, one that does not photograph well.

I made the mistake of asking Devin what he thought of the card. He hadn't glanced at it a milisecond and said he hated it. Rude, rude, rude. I honestly don't know why I bother showing him my art. Reynna loves it though. Next time, I'll just go to her.

Work went well today. I'm back in the field and happy to be out of the office. I'm dying to check my score for the exam I just took. Like I said in an earlier post, the soonest I've ever gotten a score has been 3 weeks. So why am I chomping at the bit to check my score? Oh yeah, I think it's because I'm a bit compulsive and dying to know if I passed or not. I will try to refrain from checking this week. However, next week is a whole other story.

I'm off for the night. If you've stopped by, thanks for doing so.
