Spellbinders August Glimmer Kit of the Month

Hi friends and welcome back. I have two cards to share with you today using the August 2021 Glimmer hot foil kit of the month from Spellbinders. This months kit is absolutely gorgeous with two beautiful floral clusters plus a couple of others along with a full roll of bright pink foil. For my first card, I started by taking the largest glimmer plate from the February 2021 Glimmer hot foil kit (still available) and I foiled it using silver foil onto this specialty cardstock from Spellbinders. This cardstock is absolutely wonderful for foiling. I then took both of the floral plates from the August kit and used the pink foil included in the kit and foiled onto this same panel.

I trimmed the panel down and added it to a hot pink card base. I then foiled a sentiment with silver foil. It is from the Effortless Sentiments Glimmer Plate & Die Set and it comes with coordinating dies which is awesome. I finished off the card with some pink gems.

For my second card, I decided to make a shaker card. I started by taking some silver foil and the floral plates from the August kit and foiled onto this Glimmer Specialty Clear Film Sheets from Spellbinders. This foiled absolutely beautifully onto this. I wasn't sure at first how this would turn out but it worked like a charm.

I then took a piece of patterned paper from this paper collection and trimmed it to size as well as made my outer frame by die cutting two rectangle dies together. I added the foiled acetate to my white frame portion and then added the foam tape to the outer edges. I added lots of clear sequins inside and then added a piece of patterned paper from this paper collection which was trimmed slightly smaller than the white frame and added it on top to complete the shaker portion.

I then adhered the shaker portion to my top folding white card base. I finished off the card by foiling a sentiment from the Heart Felt Sentiments Glimmer Plate & Die Set collection. I die cut it using the coordinating die that is included in the set. I also die cut the die two more times and stacked them all up for a bit of dimension. I adhered this directly to the acetate and this card is complete.
