Wild About You for LDRS Creative

Saturday, August 25, 2018

Hi friends. Long time no see again. Life has been crazy. We redid the floors in our main level, went on vacation and got my daughter moved into her college apartment this past month. And school also started for my husband and son.

Needless to say, there hasn't been much time or energy for crafting. I finally have my craft room back in order as it was a dumping ground for everything that needed to be moved from the kitchen and living areas while the floors were redone. I'm hoping to get back to a more regular schedule of crafting and posting.

But I'm back today with a fun card for LDRS Creative.

 My card today features the most adorable stamp set, Safari along with a bit of masking and ink blending for a CAS card with a lot of white space.

Before we get to my card today, I wanted to let you know the store currently has a sale on the Safari stamp and die combo and the Happy Days die collection. Purchase both for just $29.99 - that is $10 off the regular price - woohoo!

Okay, now back to my card.

I first took a circle die and ran it through some masking paper with my die cut machine. For my card today, I will just be using the negative portion of the mask.
TIP: Save the positive portion of the mask for another card.

I then added my mask over top my card base and then blended in some of the beautiful Hybrid ink colors from LDRS Creative in both the Kiss me Red and In Your Face Orange colors.
{Side note: Aren't those just the most fun names for these inks? And let me tell you, these inks blend so beautifully. I really love them!}

Things look a bit messy and blotchy right now but once you removed the mask and the ink has had a chance to soak up into the paper, you are left with beautiful results.

After I was happy with my ink blending, I removed the mask and you are left with a perfect ink blended circle. I just love this look and how clean and crisp everything looks.

I then did a bit of simple coloring using the adorable zebra, leaf and grass images from the Safari stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. And I love how you get the stamps and dies together for one low price.

I added my images and popped my zebra up with some foam tape for added dimension. I stamped the sentiment, also from the Safar stamp set in the Raven Hybrid ink.

And a final look at my card.

I hope I've inspired you to break out your inks and
get inky to create a blended background.

Adorable card with that cute zebra on safari. Your ink blended background is beautiful. Oh golly, those colors look amazing. Thanks for sharing how you masked and got the colors just in the circle. Great work on the card. Congratulations on making it through what sounds like an exciting but also trying time with your house renovation and getting your daughter situated at college! Will look forward to seeing your creations as you have time (and energy-you may need a vacation). :)
