Hello for LDRS Creative - with a Copic Colored Background

Saturday, August 11, 2018

Happy Saturday friends. I'm really excited to show you my card today as I've done something I've never done before. For today's card, I will be using the Daisy Daisy stamp and die collection and the Hello Word die both from LDRS Creative.
To get started with my card, I stamped 3 of the images from the Daisy Daisy stamp set several time onto my white panel of card stock making sure to stamp off the edge.
{TIP} - by stamping off the edge of the paper, you help ground the entire piece and make it look like you just chopped this panel off from a larger piece of paper.
After my stamping was done, I took a couple of blue Copic markers and colored in the background space. I went over everything a few times to try and get the smoothest blend possible. It's not perfect but I think it's good enough. I've never done this technique before where you color the background but leave the images in the foreground alone. I really like how striking this looks.
After my panel was done, I took the Hello Word die and cut it twice - once with some black card stock and once with a layer of fun foam.
I added the black layer on top of the fun foam layer and offset it ever so slightly. I feel that this helped make the sentiment pop off the card a bit better.
Here's a closeup of the sentiment where you can see the dimension you get by adding in the layer of fun foam.

Beautiful card, Alanna! You did great with the Copic colored background. That is such a striking blue color. It really helps the flowers pop. The hello looks wonderful in black and offset the way you have. Great job on a new technique! :) Happy weekend. It's back to work for me on Tuesday. Sniff, sniff. Hope your son and daughter have a great start to this school year. High school and college freshman, correct?

I just love the colour of blue and that you've inverted the colouring - most people would do the flowers and leave the background. Great design. xxx
