I was able to get some watercolor card stock that Kay uses as her backgrounds are always so beautiful. I decided to start easy and I just took one color of distress ink and blended it onto the entire card panel but concentrating the color heavier up top and then fading down.
I've been wanting to use this fun image from Paper Smooches and have tried to color it a couple of times without any real success. So I decided that I would just stamp it in black. I added just a touch of a cool gray Copic marker to add a bit of shadow to help ground the vase.
As always, your visit is truly appreciated. I hope you have an amazing day! Today is my last day of work for the week -- yeah for a super long Thanksgiving weekend. I'll be back here in a couple of days with a Thanksgiving card.

Oooh, looks fabulous, Alanna! I really like the background. Kay will be very proud, I'm sure. :) I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy your long Thanksgiving weekend! Bundle up for two of those days according to the weather folks. :) Hugs!!
Gorgeous new blog, Alanna! You might want to link it to your blogger profile, just so people can find it easier....
Your card is super pretty, too!
Gorgeous card and gorgeous blog look!!
When I saw it on IG, I knew I had to head here to say how much I love it. You're so fabulous at distressing cardstock and this is no exception, I love its simplicity and the black outline of the flowers - they just speak for themselves. Xx
Wow....this is just gorgeous. This is one incredible background you created! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.
This is so lovely. A friend has a similar stamp and we were having a difficult time getting it to look "right." We're going to try something similar and see how it goes.
