Spellbinders Merry Stitchmas Collection

Tuesday, October 19, 2021

Hi friends and welcome  back. I have a fun card to share with you today that features something I've never done before and that is to add stitching to cards. I know it's super popular and that several companies have stitching dies.

Well for my card today, I am using the new Diamond Stitch die from Spellbinders and I'm not going to lie, I was a bit intimidated, even with this easy design. But let me tell you, once I got my needle threaded and the first few stitches done, this was a piece of cake! I started with my silver metallic thread and added the stitching to every other one of the diamond areas. I then went back in and added in the gold metallic thread to the other open areas.

After all my stitching was done, I turned the panel over and used my score board to add scoring to the back of the panel for some added interest. I then took the Festive Noel dies and took just the letter dies from the die set and die cut them from this silver metallic card stock. I die cut them two times each and stacked them for just a bit of dimension. I added them right above my stitching detail and then added a few of these gold embellishments.  I added my panel to an A2 card base that I made using the same silver metallic card stock that I had cut my letters out of and this card is complete.

I'm so happy with how this card turned out and now that I've gotten over the hump and have made my first stitch, you just might see some more stitching from me in the future. :) Wishing you all a wonderful day. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna
