Hawaiian Happy Birthday

Thursday, August 12, 2021

Hi friends and welcome back. The latest release at Whimsy Stamps had some super fun products geared towards outer space and aliens but it also had this gorgeous Hawaiian Floral background image and I thought it would be fun to heat emboss it and do some emboss resist.

I started by taking the Hawaiian Floral background stamp and I heat embossed it with white embossing powder onto a piece of watercolor cardstock. I then took some Distress Oxide sprays and sprayed it quite heavily. I did this a few times, drying in between so I could get some different tones and values.

After my panel was dry, I die cut it using the largest die from the FaDoodle Frames Scalloped Rectangles die collection. I then took the new Slimline Observation Deck die and die cut it from some white card stock. On one of the inside fall out pieces, I stamped the sentiment which is from the previously released Enjoy the Journey stamp set. I took the other two inside portions and stacked them all together for a bit of dimension.

I then got to work on assembling my card. I started by adding a piece of raspberry cardstock to a white card base. I then added my embossed background with some thin foam tape. I added my sentiment and then finished off the card with some sequins.

That's all I have for you today. I appreciate your visit as always. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna
