Hi friends and happy New Years. I hope 2021 is going to be a wonderful year for everyone. I know that there were some good parts to 2020 for many people but for the most part I am ready for a new year.
The first of the month means it's time for a new release at Whimsy Stamps and I am in love with the new Slimline Hearts Background die. I have 3 slimline cards for you today featuring this amazing die and I have paired it with some sentiments from the super cute Yeti for Love stamp set. I haven't yet had a chance to color up these cute yetis but I am itching to do so.
For my first card, I started by creating my own background using 3 different colors of alcohol inks on some heavy Yupo paper. Before the inks were completely dry, I took some silver Decofoil and added touches of it to my background.
I die cut the Slimline Hearts Background die 3 times from white card stock and stacked them together. I added it to my alcohol inked background which I had adhered to a pink slimline card base. I added in back some of the white hearts to 3 sections and stamped in the XO from the Yeti for Love stamp set with silver ink.
For my second card, I die cut the Slimline Hearts Background die three times, I die cut it once out of some dark pink glitter paper, once out of grey card stock and once out of white card stock. I trimmed down a piece of white card stock to fit the size of the die cut panel and added adhesive over the entire panel and then laid down my Slimline Hearts Background die over top of it. At this point, I had exposed adhesive over all of the individual hearts.
I then inlaid all of the hearts. There was probably an easier way to achieve this look but I wasn't really in the mood to figure that out :) and this didn't take too long. I just used my jewel picker and got to work inlaying all of the hearts.
I finished off the card by stamping some sentiments from the Yeti for Love stamp set and adding them with foam tape onto 3 of the larger pink glitter hearts.
For my last card, I die cut the Slimline Hearts Background die from some glitter paper and then out of some grey card stock and stacked them together.
Before I adhered these to my slimline card base, I lined the die cut panel up and stamped the Hugs and XO sentiments from the Yeti for Love stamp set into several of the heart openings.
Alrighty then, there you have it. 3 different cards using the Slimline Hearts Background die. I hope you've been inspired. I'd love to hear if you have a favorite card from the bunch. Thanks so much for stopping by. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

What a fun die and what a diverse group of cards you created with it. I think my favorite is the alcohol inks one, because alcohol inks are so cool looking! Happy New Year, Alanna! I hope it's the start of something awesome for you! Hugs!
