Sleighing in Style

Thursday, October 22, 2020

Hi friends and welcome back to my blog. I have a fun card to share with you today using the brand new Greedy Santa set from Whimsy Stamps. This is a red rubber stamp and has the fun Santa image along with some great sentiments.

I started by stamping, coloring and cutting out the Santa car image. I had an idea to have Santa driving down the road in a winter night sky so I took a piece of black card stock and added some white dashes along it with my white gel pen.  I sat that aside while I inked up my background using Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I added some of the Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigment Pearl with a paint brush to add some texture and sparkle to my background.

I die cut some of the trees from the recently released Tree Assortment dies from white card stock to help set my scene.

I added my 'road' to the bottom of my card and then added in my trees, tucking them in just under the road. I then added my Santa image which I popped up with foam tape.  I decided I needed some snow in my sky so I added some white dots with my white gel pen.  I then heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Greedy Santa set onto black card stock and then popped it up with foam tape and my card is complete.

I appreciate you stopping by today and hope that you are having a terrific week. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Wonderful scene, Alanna! Santa's looking edgy! You colored Santa's "sleigh" wonderfully and I really like the background scene you created. Thanks for sharing! Hugs!
