Just Keep Swimming

Friday, July 31, 2020

Welcome friends and happy Friday. I hope you all have had an amazing week. I'm back today with another card for Whimsy Stamps featuring the brand new Zebra Stripes Background stamp along with the previously released Baby Sea Creatures stamp set.

I thought the Zebra Stripes Background stamp could be used as waves for a fun scene for my sea critters. I stamped it a couple of times onto some blue card stock and then added a bit of ink over top of it with my blending brush for added depth.

I stamped, colored and cut out the cuties from the Baby Sea Creatures stamp set. I then took my craft knife and cut along the wavy lines of my background so that I could tuck my critters into the background to help make them look like they were all swimming together.

I finished the card by stamping the sentiment which is from the same Baby Sea Creatures stamp set and I also added some Studio Katia Clear Round Drops to mimic bubbles.

I hope you've been inspired to perhaps look at your stamps in a different way then they were possibly intended.

Thanks so much for your visit. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Wow! Great idea to use the stripes stamp as waves. It works great! I love how you tucked the sea critters into the waves, too. Excellent work! :) Happy weekend, my friend! Hugs!
