2 more Butterfly Cards

Friday, April 3, 2020

Hi friends! A couple of weeks ago, I shared 3 cards using the brand new Butterflies set from Whimsy Stamps. I told you then how much I love this set. I love the varying sizes and types of butterflies in the set mixed with the simple font of the sentiments.  I am back today with 2 more cards using this set, mostly the same with some small variations.

For both of my cards today, I started by taking some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and smooshing it onto my glass mat. I then spritzed a bit of water into it and took a piece of white card stock and smooshed my card stock into the ink. I did this a few times, sometimes drying in between the layers.

I then flicked on a few splatters of the same ink with a paint brush. After this was dry, I stamped my image and sentiment.

I finished off my card panel by die cutting it with the largest die from the Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies. I then popped it up with a piece of craft foam for added lift and finished off the card with a few white pearls.

I did exactly the same thing on this card but instead of using the large butterfly, I stamped the other 3 smaller butterflies.

I ended up stamping my sentiment a bit crooked so I decided to fix it by stamping it again, trimming it down and popping it over top of my boo boo. :)

Here is a look at both cards together. These were so quick and easy to come up with. I can definitely see myself creating more of these, perhaps in a rainbow of colors to give as a gift set.

These are lovely, Alanna! I love the bold pink to highlight the pretty butterflies. :)
