Adding Coloring to the Outside of a Stamped Image

Friday, July 5, 2019

Hi friends. I'm back today for Whimsy Stamps featuring a couple of cards with a line art floral image that most people would probably color.  But you know I am going to try and find a way around busting out my coloring mediums. :)

I decided it would be fun to stamp the image and then add Copic markers around the image. Would you call this negative coloring? :)

The gorgeous floral image is called Bouquet.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  I started by stamping it twice onto some white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then pulled out an aqua and red Copic marker.

I had to add several layers of color to get a half way decent blend. It's still not perfect but it works for me.

My sentiment is from the Everyday Mini Sentiments stamp set.  After my panel was dry, I die cut it using the largest die from the Card Builder Window dies.  I then matted it onto some black card stock to help make everything pop.  Some clear gems finish off the cards.

Wow, these are really nice looking, Alanna. I probably wouldn't have thought to do that, but coloring the background only looks really cool!

I really like this 'negative' colouring - it really highlights the flowers! xx
