Shine Bright

Monday, July 29, 2024

Hi friends. I'm sharing another set of cards that were published on the Topflight Stamps blog earlier this month.  I had this Shining Star set, from Visible Image in my stash and decided it was the perfect time for it to see ink.

I started by stamping the large star image with alcohol marker friendly ink using my Misti stamping tool. I then colored it with my OLO markers. I then restamped the image with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink to really deepen and darken the stamped outline. I love doing this when I am coloring. As long as you have some sort of stamping tool, you are good to go.

After my images were colored, I stamped one of the sentiments from the set with the same Versafine Claire Nocturne ink in the bottom left corner. I trimmed my panels down and added them with foam tape to a coordinating A2 card base from some deep yellow card stock. I finished off the cards by adding in some sequin confetti.

Celebrate! Create your own Inky Background

Thursday, July 25, 2024

Hi friends. I had this card on the Topflight Stamps blog earlier this month and thought I would share it here as well.

For my card, I am using the Smitten with Stars stencil from AALL & Create. This is a very large stencil coming. You could line up two A2 notecards and just stencil across if you chose to. So, if you are in need of a larger stencil for some of your projects, this is great one.

I started by blending on Versafine Clair Warm Breeze ink over an A2 sized panel of white card stock. I then took some of the Versafine Clair Medieval Blue ink and blended on just towards the tops of the larger stars.

I then took one of the images from the Dot Dash Grid stamp set from AALL & Create and stamped portions of it a few times over my background using Versafine Clair Monarch ink. After that stamping was done, I brought out one of my favorite stamp sets, the Birthday Wishes set from Visible Image and stamped two of the sentiments with the Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I trimmed this panel down and matted it onto a piece of blue cardstock that coordinated with my ink colors. This was then added to a white A2 notecard and that completes this card.

For my card today, I was in a rainbow mood and created a quick and easy card, perfect for birthdays and other celebratory reasons as well.

To get started, I took the celebrate word from the Birthday Wishes set from Visible Image and I stamped it repeatedly using rainbow colors using my Misti. I stamped and moved the paper down in my Misti.

After this stamping was done, I took one of the smaller sentiments in the same Birthday Wishes set and stamped it in my favorite Versafine Claire Nocturne ink. I trimmed this panel down, added it to a black layer which was then added to a white A2 notecard.
Some black enamel dots finish off the card.

A trio of Alcohol Inked Birthday Cards for Topflight Stamps

Wednesday, April 5, 2023

Hello friends - Alanna here and I have a trio of birthday cards to share with you today featuring the fun Handlettering Happy Birthday & Numbers stamp set from Craft Emotions, available at Topflight Stamps

I love the big bold sentiment in the set. It also includes all the numbers along with some supporting images to create fun birthday cards.

To get started, I created my backgrounds on some Yupo paper using various shades of blue alcohol inks. Once my panels were dry, I trimmed them down and added them to black card stock leaving a thin border on all 4 sides. I then added each of these panels to white A2 notecards.

I then took the large sentiment from the Handlettering Happy Birthday & Numbers set and stamped it using my stamping platform repeatedly. I used Stazon ink since I was stamping on Yupo paper, which is a synthetic paper with more of a plastic like surface.

That finished off these birthday cards which were so easy to pull together but make a big impact. And bonus - they definitely fit the bill for a masculine card. But of course, could just as easy be used for the females in your life.

I made a trio of birthday cards featuring some products you've seen me use before from Topflight Stamps, the Butterfly Collage from Studio Light and the Handlettering Happy Birthday & Numbers set from Craft Emotions.  I just love both of them so much. For the cards, I started by stamping the Butterfly Collage onto white card stock with light pink ink. I then took the large birthday sentiment from the Handlettering Happy Birthday & Numbers set and stamped it directly over top of my previous stamping with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink. I then decided my cards needed just a little something else so I took one of the fairy images from the Fairy Foragers set from Lavinia Stamps and stamped it with the same black ink.
That finished off these cards, perfect for when you need a quick and easy and very mail friendly birthday card.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for your visit and crafty hugs! ~ Alanna
