Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Thursday, November 9, 2023

Hello friends. I have a fun card using some BetterPress products from Spellbinders for you today. This is my second post for the day. Click here or scroll down to see my other post.

To get started, I took the Santa image and sentiment from the Holly Jolly Santa Press Plate and die set and inked them up at the same time using both the Strawberry and Black inks. Because the ink pads are smaller, it was no problem to ink them both up at the same time.

I ran my panel through my BetterPress LetterPress System and then took the mail stamp from the Parcel and Post Sentiments stamp set repeatedly on the background, making sure not to stamp directly on top of the Santa image.

After this was done, I decided my panel was too stark white and I wanted to soften it up a bit. I used the same grey ink I used to stamp the images and blended around the perimeter of the card.

I finished off the card by adding in some red gems. The panel was added with foam tape to a white A2 notecard.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for your visit and crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Fantastic card, Alanna. Love the retro feel Santa. The letterpress looks amazing and I think your instinct to soften the background is spot on. Thanks for sharing!
