2 Fun Cards and a new Release

Hello friends. I cannot believe the year is half over! Where did the last 6 months go? Well, the first of the month means a new mini release at Whimsy Stamps. There are some super fun stamp sets included in this release but for my cards today, I am focusing on the new Smiley Hello die set.

For my first card, I started by taking one of the dies from the Mini Slim Tri-fold die set out of a piece of white card stock that had been die cut using the largest die from the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set. I die cut this panel 5 more times creating my own cover plate die if you will. I was left with 6 openings which I backed with a piece of patterned paper from the Rainbow 6x6 paper collection. I then added this panel to a piece of black card stock and then added everything to a white A2 notecard.

I then took the Smiley Hello die set again and die cut the Hello die from it three times from white card stock. I also took the same Mini Slim Tri-fold die set that I used before to die cut three black circles to add behind my hello die cuts. I added these die cuts with some thin foam tape on my card and that completes it.

For my second card, I started by taking the Mini Slim Pickens 2 die and I die cut it from a piece of white card stock. I then took that piece and die cut it using the largest die from the Mini Slim Rounded Stitched Rectangles die set. I added some red card stock behind this and then added it all to a piece of black card stock that was die cut from the Mini Slim Rounded die set. Everything was then added to a white mini-slim notecards.

As I did with the first card, I took the Mini Slim Tri-fold die and die cut two circles from it out of black card stock and red card stock. I then took the new Smiley Hello die set and die cut two of the dies from white card stock. I added the solid red circle behind it as a backer and then added these to the solid black circle but slightly offset. These were added with thin foam tape and that completes card number 2.
