Happy Shark Week with Ink Smooshing

Wednesday, June 14, 2023

Hello friends and welcome back. I know it's been a bit since I last posted. I've been busy behind the scenes getting things created and then prepped for the Whimsy Stamps retreat coming next month!

Speaking of Whimsy Stamps, they had a mini release a few days ago and in it was an incredible die set, Ripples, along with an awesome new stamp set called Shark Week.

For my card, I started by taking a piece of watercolor cardstock and I did some ink smooshing various shades of blue Distress inks (linked below). I love the look I was able to achieve doing this. When the panel was dry, I took the new Ripples die set and die cut it into the panel. On a couple of the inner rings, I die cut extra pieces to add additional depth. I added this to a white A2 notecard.

I then stamped one of the images from the Shark Week set with some grey ink and fussy cut around it. I added him into the center of my panel so it looked like he was coming out from the water. I added my sentiment and then finished off the card by a few Clear Dew Drops from This Calls for Confetti.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for your visit and crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

What a neat looking card. That background/water looks amazing! And watch out for that shark sneaking up on you! Great job, Alanna.
