Spellbinders Spring into Glimmer Collection

Thursday, February 24, 2022

Hi friends and welcome back. I have several projects to share with you today using new glimmer plates from Spellbinders. These are all from the Spring into Glimmer collection.

For my first two cards, I am using the new Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments glimmer plates. For the card on the left, I started by hot foiling the happy birthday with gold foil directly onto some navy card stock. I then added a die cut which is from the Magnolia Blooms die set. I added this panel with foam tape to a navy A2 notecard. I finished off the card by adding in some gold gems.

For the card on the right, I took a piece of light blue pearlescent card stock and scored it with my score board. I then took the Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments glimmer plate set and foiled the thanks and then used the coordinating die which is included in the set to cut it out. I die cut it again out of white card stock and added the two together. I then took the Magnolia Glimmer Blooms glimmer plate set and foiled it with the same aqua foil. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and then added it to my scored panel. I added the panel to a white A2 notecard with foam tape and then finished off the card by adding in some light blue gems.

For my second card, I foiled the new Glimmer Edge Flowers with both aqua and bright pink foils. I then foiled the leaves and cut everything out with the coordinating dies included in the set.

I die cut a frame from the February 2022 small die of the month from black card stock and added it to my black A2 card base with foam tape. I was inspired by my friend Lisa's very striking cards here where she did black on black.

I added my foiled flowers and leaves to the card and then finished it off with a foiled sentiment which is from the Yana's sentiments glimmer plate set.

For my last  two cards, I am using the new Glimmer Edge Butterflies set. I started by foiling the butterflies and then used the coordinating dies which are included in the set to die cut the butterflies. The dies cut right up to the edge so there is no white outline.

I then took the Essential Glimmer Labels glimmer plate set and taped them all together and foiled them with silver foil. I love how this turned out. I took the largest die from the matching Essential Labels die set and die cut the frame and added them to some blue A2 notecards with thin foam tape. I foiled some sentiments which are from the Effortless Sentiments glimmer plate set and then cut them out using the coordinating dies. I added stacked die cuts behind each of them so they would have more dimension. I added the sentiments to the centers of the cards and then added my butterflies and these cards are done.

Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you've been inspired. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna
