2 Nordic Slimline Cards

Wednesday, October 20, 2021

Hi friends. It's the 20th of the month which means it's time for another mini release at Whimsy Stamps. I have two similar cards both using the same products to share with you today.

For both cards, I am using the new Nordic Background Rubber Cling Stamp and the new ATC Sleigh Ride set. I am also using the previously released Antique ATC Frames and Christmas Branches die sets.

For my first card, I started by stamping the Nordic Background stamp onto one of the patterned papers from the new Slimline Surreally Cool Christmas papers with black ink. I then trimmed it down and matted it onto black card stock. I then added this to a teal slimline card base.

I then die cut a frame from the Antique ATC Frames die set and blended on some light teal ink onto it. I then stamped one of the images from the ATC Sleigh Ride set onto it. I added this onto two more of the frame die cuts that I had die cut from black card stock for added dimension. I die cut some of the dies from the Christmas Branches die set with silver mirror card stock and added those behind my focal point. I finished off the card with some black gems from my stash.

For my second card, I decided to heat emboss the Nordic Background stamp with white embossing powder onto red card stock. I trimmed down the panel some and added it to a black mat. This was then added to a red slimline card base.

I then stamped the same image from the ATC Sleigh Ride set onto a piece of white card stock which I then die cut using a different die from the Antique ATC Frames die set. I die cut the same die two more times out of white card stock and added them all together for dimension.

I die cut the Christmas Branches out of the same silver mirror card stock that I used on the first card and added the branches behind my main panel. I didn't add adhesive to the ends of the branches so that they could be fluffed a bit for a touch of lift. I finished off the card with a few black gems.

Alrighty then, that's it for today. Do you have a favorite from the two cards? I love the dark teals from the first card but also love how the heat embossing looks on the second card. I guess I'm no help. :)
