2 Cards with the same Stencil

Thursday, October 7, 2021

Hi friends. I have two cards to share with you today using the Speckled Star stencil from Whimsy Stamps

For my first card, I did some ink blending on a slimline size of white card stock with the Speckled Star stencil using inks in rainbow colors. I laid down the stencil and blended on two colors of ink. I then cleaned the stencil and moved it down the card and then repeated the process two times.

I then stamped the sentiments which are from two sets. The You are portion is from a previously released set called You Are. It has a lot of great sentiments in it that go with the phrase you are - perfect to send an uplifting card to a friend or loved one. The large such word and the smaller words are from the newer Such and Such set that was released awhile back.

I love black ink against the rainbow background. I matted my stamped and inked panel onto a piece of black card stock and then added it to a white slimline card base.

For my second card, I went in a completely different route using the Speckled Star stencil. I added some Christmas Tree Paper Glaze paste through it onto a piece of textured watercolor card stock. and then while the paste was still dry, I added some chunky glitter over top of it. You can kind of see the glitter in the photo.

I then stamped a few of the sentiments from the Simple Sentiment Strips set and then die cut them using the Simple Sentiment Strip dies - a match made in heaven.

I added my stenciled panel to a black piece of card stock and then adhered it to a top folding white card base. I then added my sentiment strips with some foam tape and this card is done.

Alrighty then, that's all I have for you today. I hope you've been inspired. Thanks for stopping by today. I truly appreciate it. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Well these two cards are really fun. I adore the rainbow effect you created on the first card. It looks wonderful! It pops so well against the black mat. Wow! The sentiment is fabulous, too. The second card is neat with the paste and glitter. That's a neat stencil for sure. :)
