One Stamp Set - 3 Different Ways

Friday, August 20, 2021

Hello friends and happy Friday. I am excited to share a trio of cards today with you that all use the brand new FaDoodle Rainbows that my friend Faye Wynn Jones has illustrated for Whimsy Stamps. If you haven't heard of Faye or are not familiar with her work, you can check her blog out here. She is super talented and a Copic extraordinaire.

The FaDoodle Rainbows set is just one of many that is releasing today from Whimsy Stamps. Click here to see all of the new goodies.

Okay, now back to my cards. Here is a peek of all 3 of them together.

For my first card, I started by stamping the outline rainbow with Copic friendly black ink. I then colored each of the rainbows in with two colors each so that I could get in all the colors of the rainbow. I then stamped my sentiments which are from the Fantabulous set that was released a few months back. I stamped the small black stars which are part of the FaDoodle Rainbows set and then matted my stamped panel onto some black card stock leaving a thin border on the sides. I added this to a top folding white card base and card #1 is complete.

For my second card, I stamped the same outline rainbow image but this time, I used the solid rainbow rays in the set to fill in the rays this time. Now the rays come all as one image but there is enough room in between the rays that you can cut in between them with your scissors. So that is what I did - some stamp surgery so that I could easily stamp the rays individually in different shades of teal ink.

I stamped the sentiment which is from the Simple Sentiment Strips stamp set, one of my all time favorite sets from Whimsy Stamps and then die cut the panel using the largest die from the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die collection.

I then die cut the clouds from white card stock which are from the Up in the Clouds die collection. I mounted them with foam tape and card #2 is complete.

For my third card, I started by taking the individual rays and stamping them with red, orange and yellow inks. I stamped two of the sentiments included in the FaDoodle Rainbows stamp set directly over top of my stamped rainbow.

I die cut this panel using the same Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set I used above and then took the same Up in the Clouds die collection I used in my second card and die cut the other cloud die twice and added it just with liquid glue to my card panel.

I then used the Tonic Studios A2 Shaker Pockets to make a flat shaker card. I've been seeing these around and have had these pouches in my stash for a few months and finally decided to put one to use. I sealed up 3 of the 4 sides with the adhesive on the pouch and then added some flat sequins inside of my pocket. I then sealed up the pouch and added it to a bright yellow card base. This was so much fun to do and can't wait to make more flat shaker cards. I have these pouches in slimline and square size as well which I will also link below - so much fun! And so easy to make.

Alrighty then - do you have a favorite from the three cards? I think my favorite might be the second one with the shades of teal. But I do love them all and love that I was able to get 3 completely different looks from this one stamp set.

I appreciate your visit and wish you a very happy Friday and weekend. Before you go, here is some inspiration from the rest of the Whimsy Stamps Creative Team. Crafty hugs!
