Hello friends! Thanks for dropping by today. I have 2 fun New Years cards for you today but really, they could be for more occasions for that. They could just be a thinking of you card sent out during the winter months. Or you could make them a birthday card for someone with a winter birthday. Both of my cards feature the gorgeous Elegant Snowflakes and Border die that was recently released from Whimsy Stamps.
For my first card, I started by taking a piece of heavy vellum and spraying it liberally with various sprays, all linked below. I had a lot of fun with his and you can tell in the photo somewhat the different layers and texture I was able to get although it still doesn't do it justice.
Once the panel was dry, I die cut it with the largest die from the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die collection. I then used the Elegant Snowflakes and Border die and die cut the all of the pieces including the border die which I am saving for my second card. I absolutely love this die and the gorgeous snowflakes. I adhered each of them to my card with just touches of liquid glue. I then adhered some pearls to each of the snowflake centers.
I stamped my sentiment which is from the Happy Sayings stamp set onto some grey card stock. I mounted it with foam tape and added it to my panel. I added foam tape to my main panel and added it to a top folding grey card base and this card is complete.
For my second card, I started by scoring a white card base at 3.5 x 8 to create a slimline card. I adhered this specialty paper from Tonic Studios onto it leaving a small white border. I then took the border portion of the die cut from my first card and added it to the top of the blue panel. I stamped the same greeting I used on the first card and popped it up with foam tape and this card is complete.
I appreciate you stopping by and hope you've been inspired. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna
