Whimsy Stamps New Release - 2 fun Cards

Monday, June 15, 2020

Hello friends and happy Monday. Whimsy Stamps has another smaller release that just hit the stores today and I had so much fun creating with these products.

There are 4 new clear sets, 2 stand alone dies including a new Slimline die, which Whimsy Stamps was the innovator of last year, a new paper collection and an awesome red rubber cling background stamp.

All of the new products are linked below. Just click on the photo to be taken to the store.

I have two cards to share with you today, both using the  new Burst Background set but with two very different looks. The products I've used in my two cards are linked below and then shown below at the very bottom of the post.

For my first card, I started by stamping the Burst Background stamp directly onto my card base with some blue ink. I knew I wanted to also use the new Oops Word & Shadow die from this release and thought it would be fun to pair it with some sentiments from the Old Fart stamp set for this fun and cheeky belated birthday card. And bonus - this design and colors work perfectly for a masculine card.

I stamped the sentiments from the Old Fart set onto my white die cut which was from the Notched Rectangles die collection.

I die cut the shadow portion from the Oops Word & Shadow die collection with a grey card stock and then die cut the actual letters from the die with white card stock. I then used the same ink pad I used to stamp my background and took it directly to the die cut letters and did the direct to paper technique. This way, my die cut sentiment perfectly matches my background.

For my second card today, I used the same Burst Background set but this time I inked it up in multiple colors in rainbow order. I used mini ink cubes and my Misti to make the process easier.

I then stamped the rainbow/clouds image from the Unicorn Sparkle set, colored it and fussy cut it out. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Happy Sky set directly onto my inked panel.

I then decided it would be a nice touch to take the Rain Drops Background stamp and stamped it directly over all the other stamping in a very light grey ink to help mimic a stormy sky.

I die cut this panel using the largest die from the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die collection, matted it on some black card stock and then adhered it to my card base. I added my rainbow and clouds with foam tape and then decided to add lots of clear gems from my stash.

That's all I have for you today but I will be back in a couple of days with more inspiration using these new products.

Here is some additional inspiration from the rest of the team.

Thanks for stopping by and crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Oh my goodness, Alanna! That burst background die is pretty neat. I really, really like the first card with the bold blue background and the big oops! Okay, and the sentiment is pretty darn funny, too. It looks terrific in the rainbow colors, as well. Thanks for sharing these fun new items. Hugs!
