A Slimline Kooky Monster Card

Tuesday, June 23, 2020

Hi friends. I have a fun Slimline card to share with you today featuring fun products from Whimsy Stamps.  Speaking of Slimline cards, did you know that Whimsy Stamps was the first company to come out with these unique dies last year? There are several options to choose from now and a little birdie told me that there are even more in the works. Wink wink. :)

Okay, back to my card. I started by stamping 3 of the cute monster images from the fun Kooky Monsters set. I then colored them with Copic markers and did something I haven't done before which was try to add a lot of texture by making visible brush strokes. I was trying to create the illusion of fur. I'm not sure that it worked all that well and heaven knows I am no coloring expert but I'm pretty pleased with the results.

I then cut these images out and got to work on the rest of my card. I took the Slimline Marquee die and cut it from some white card stock. I also took a piece of patterned paper from the Hocus Pocus collection and die cut it using the same Slimline Marquee die. I inlaid the patterned pieces inside the open sections and then adhered my monsters on top with some foam tape.  Speaking of these cute little monsters, I decided to give each of them some fun eyes using this fun product.

I finished off the card by stamping the sentiment which is from the Goth Doll Boy set and added it to my card. And that is it.

I hope you've been inspired today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
