Hi friends and Happy New Year. Since it is the first day of the month, that means there is a brand new release over at Whimsy Stamps. Everything is shown and linked below. Also, please scroll down for the 3 cards I have today to share with you.
I have 3 cards to share with you today, all using the Valentine Puns stamp set along with the incredible Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies.
Here's a shot of all 3 cards together. Scroll down for individual photos and more details.
For my first card, I started by die cutting the Wonky Stitched Rectangles 3 times, using different sizes from the die collection. I absolutely love the double stitching lines on these.
On the smallest die cut panel, I stamped and colored my soup image and added the sentiment, both from the Valentine Puns set. Such a fun and happy image.
For my second card, I started by die cutting the largest die from the new Wonky Stitched Rectangles die collection and then added a mask so that I could keep the outside of the rectangle white and add more dimension without adding more bulk.
With my mask in place, I blended on some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink using a blending brush. I stamped the sentiment with black ink and then took the same Worn Lipstick ink and stamped the typewriter image from the Valentine Puns several times, all while keeping my mask on. I just love the look this creates.
For my last card, I use the two largest dies from the Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies. On the smaller one, I started by stamping the cute pear image and the sentiment from the Valentine Puns set. I added some simple coloring and then took some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and blended it around the edges. Both of my die cut layers were matted on black card stock to help them stand out.
If you've made it this far, a big thank you. I hope you've enjoyed my cards today. I'd love to know if there is anything from this release that catches your eye? Let me know in the comments.
