My card today is for Sparkle's weekly Christmas card challenge. Now that we're into September, Christmas is fast approaching, which is fine by me because I absolutely love the Christmas season. I love giving, the time spent focusing on family, and the extra time off from work doesn't hurt either. LOL.
My card is also for this Moxie Fab challenge, which is to make a holiday themed card. One lucky poster will win a great prize. There's a lot of eye candy over there so be sure and check out the links.
As I was looking through my Basic Grey Wassail papers, I found several long strips from the different patterns and decided to piece them together on the card front. I think I like the look. I have a harder time using multiple pieces of patterned paper together. I noticed that my clear button next to the green one didn't photograph very well. It looks kind of blech in the photo but much better IRL.
***Supplies***
Patterned paper: Basic Grey Wassail
Stamps: CTMH
Other: Nesties, CTMH buttons and white waxy flax, Fiskars border punch
In other news, the improbably happened last night. My team, BYU, won against the 3rd ranked Oklahoma Sooners. For any Oklahoma fans out there, I'm sorry but WE WON. I'm so thrilled. What a great game it was. If you follow college football, BYU is in the Mountain West Conference. A conference that doesn't get a lot of love or prestige like some of the other powerhouse confererences. A win like this against a good Oklahoma team should propel BYU up in the rankings and maybe glean them just a bit of the respect that they deserve. If you can't tell, I am VERY passionate about sports and my teams, and in case you weren't a reader last fall, football comes up in many of my blog posts. I know the sport isn't for everyone but I love it!
Well, I hope you enjoy your Sunday. We're off to church in just a bit. Take care.

LOVE this card, Alanna! It's a great use of those strips all of us who use 6x6-inch paper pads end up with, too.
Yeah for your team! While I might not be into football/sports I don't have any problem with those who are, and yes, they certainly evoke a lot of passion. Enjoy the football season and what's left of the holiday weekend, too!
This is gorgeous Alanna! You can't go wrong with that paper line! So glad that your team won. I always played sports but not really a fan of watching them (unless it is nieces or nephews playing)! I guess because I had rather be playing them!
Hi Alanna!
What a great idea to use your strips!, This is a beautiful holiday card!!!
Congrats on BYU winning!!
I lovvvvvvvvvve football! I like college and pro....have a few favs in both! The kids just think I watch it because I like to scream! lol

Great Card
Sooooo gorgeous Alanna! I absolutely love these colors! I am really starting to dig the non-traditional holiday colors (bright green/red) and this is perfect! I am also enjoying your use of buttons on your creations....hmmm, I need to use them more often!
Beautiful! I love Christmas too!
Great job on this card, Alanna. The strips look perfect together.
