Having fun with Vinyl

Saturday, June 13, 2009

This is my second post for today so be sure and scroll down.

I've been wanting to mess around with the vinyl that I've had and my cricut machine and make a rub on for my wall. With the help of a couple friends, and a hilarious U-tube video with a lady with a crazy accent, we were able to figure the whole thing out and here's my end product. I couldn't think of what I wanted to start with but knew I wanted something simple since it was my first time doing this. So, I came up with 'Cook Wanted' to put right above my kitchen window. I don't necessarily like to cook and would rather someone else be in the kitchen. Does this mean I just advertised for a help wanted position? LOL. The picture doesn't do my walls justice. They are a rich chocolate brown and I really think the black looks very striking against the wall.

I'll definitely be doing some more vinyl in the future. I'm excited that while it did take awhile, I was able to do this for a fraction of the cost of purchasing one from Uppercase Living.

***Supplies***
Cricut cartrdiges used: Plantin Alphabet, Home Decor

cute, over my kitchen door my son bought a countryish looking plaque that reads: "Dad's Kitchen". I've never gone back in there since. Just Kidding!

Outstanding! It turned out beautifully!! If I ever get around to turning my "corner" into a "studio," I'll have to put my Cricut to work, too! Thanks for the inspiration! Thanks, too, for your sweet comment on my blog. Being a good grandma is important to me - important to them, too, I hope!

What a fun idea! How great that you took advantage of your Cricut and had such a fun time doing it. If I didn't cook, our family would definitely go hungry. I don't mind cooking, but mostly it's really easy stuff. LOL

Thanks for sharing!
