Hello friends and happy Friday. I am back today with another card made using new goodies that just hit the Whimsy Stamps store yesterday.
For this card, I am again using the Peekaboo Window 5 die (although this time I am using the frame part instead of the fallout pieces). I am also using the new Celebrate Balloons stamp set and coordinating outline die set.
To get started, I took a piece of watercolor card stock and created my own background using some Mysticals Mist Sprays from Lavinia. I used the Kingfisher and the Pinkella colors. These sprays have a beautiful shimmer to them and they are absolutely gorgeous in real life. Once my panel was dry, I took the Peekaboo Window 5 die and die cut it out. I also took 5 pieces of white card stock and die cut the frame so I could build up the walls of my shaker card.
I adhered all of the white frame die cuts together and then added a layer of vellum on top. I adhered my sprayed and colored background on top. I then turned this over and added in 3 colors of confetti from This Calls for Confetti. I used Glazed, Glazed Blueberry, and Glazed Grape sequin confetti. I love how the vellum mutes everything, but you can still see the colored confetti behind it.
I then got to work on the remainder of my card. I started by doing an ink-to-paper technique with both some aqua and purple inks. I purposely left things splotchy and not completely solid to help with the idea of texture on the balloons and to give them some interest. I then stamped two of the balloon images from the new Celebrate Balloons directly onto the inked background. I used the coordinating die set to cut out the balloons. I added them to the front of the card with some foam adhesive squares.
I finished off the card by stamping the sentiment which is also from the Celebrate Balloons set. I fussy cut the sentiment out and added it with foam tape and that completes this fun shaker card.
I hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for your visit and crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Beautiful card, Alanna. The background is very striking. I like the vellum and that it's a shaker. So many elements to enjoy! Thanks for sharing. :)
