Bibi's Butterflies Collection - 3 Cards

Monday, March 14, 2022

Hi friends. I have 3 cards to share with you today using the Bibi's Butterflies collection from Spellbinders. For my first card, I am using the new Butterfly Card Creator die set. This is a large die set that allows you to cerate a shaped butterfly card. I die cut the largest butterfly die two times from white card stock. On one of them, I scored it near the top on both sides of the wings about 1/2 inch down to create a hinge. I added adhesive to the upper portions and glued my top butterfly to this. This allows my card to stand up nicely.

I then used one size smaller butterfly and die cut it from some patterned paper from my stash. I then die cut several of the flowers and leaves included in the  Butterfly Card Creator die set from pink, white, and grey card stock to match the patterned paper. I added them to my butterfly and then finished it off by adding in the body which was cut from the same grey card stock. You can't tell it in the photo but I gave it a nice coating of Aqua Shimmer Pen from Tonic Studios for glitter and shine.

For my second card, I used the Geometric Butterfly stencil. I stenciled on colors in rainbow order through the stencil. I then took some Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel and added it over top to give a fun sparkly shine. After this was dry, I took the largest die from the So Many Butterflies die set and cut out my butterfly. I then cut the body from some holographic paper. I die cut the butterfly two more times from white card stock for dimension. I added my butterfly to a piece of black card stock that was layered onto a square notecard. I finished off the card by adding in the die Hello sentiment which is from the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiments die set.

For my last card, I am using the Butterfly Sentiments stamp set along with the So Many Butterflies die set. I added some patterned paper to my white A2 notecard and then got to work stamping some butterflies. On the smaller ones, all I did was take the same ink and go direct to paper to add their color. I finished each of the butterflies off with black bodies. The happy portion of the sentiment is from Yana's Layered Script Sentiments die set. I finished off the card with the remainder of the sentiment stamped onto a strip and popped up with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you've been inspired. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Oh my goodness, Alanna! These are gorgeous! They are all wonderful, but my eye is really drawn to the first butterfly. I love the pattern paper you used and how you added the flowers. So elegant. I think what you did with the stencil is so pretty and you highlighted the stampset so well. You gave me three great ideas for when I use this collection! Thanks so much for the inspiration. Enjoy the lovely weather this week. Until it rains/snows again. LOL
