FaDoodle Holly over Alcohol Ink

Wednesday, November 10, 2021

Hello friends! I'm excited to share my card today as it features an alcohol inked background. I hadn't played with my alcohol inks for quite some time and I thought it would make for a perfect backdrop for the new FaDoodle Holly stamp set just released today from Whimsy Stamps.

I first created my background on some Yupo Paper using a couple shades of green alcohol inks. I then heat embossed two of the images from the FaDoodle Holly stamp set onto the yupo paper using gold embossing powder.

You can heat emboss on yupo paper but you have to be extremely careful and only emboss just a small portion at a time. Since yupo paper is a synthetic paper and more like plastic, it will melt very easily.

After my embossing was done, I trimmed my panel down and then matted it onto some gold mirror card stock. I then added it to a white card base.  I heat embossed the sentiment which is from the FaDoodle Holly stamp set onto white card stock and then added it onto some gold mirror card stock. I finished off the card by adding in some red enamel dots into the place of the berries.

Are you a fan of alcohol inks? They are so much fun to play with and if you haven't given them a try yet, I would encourage you to do so. They are so much fun and so addicting.

Before you go, here is some inspiration from the rest of the Creative Team.

Oh gosh, I love the alcohol inked background, Alanna. Playing with alcohol inks is so fun, though I tend to be heavy handed somehow with them. I like the light, airy feel of yours! The gold embossing looks fabulous. Thanks so much for sharing. Makes me want to pull out my inks. :)
