Thinking of Mew - 2 Cards

Thursday, March 11, 2021

Hi everyone! Whimsy Stamps has a new mini release and I am using the new Thinking of Mew stamp set from it, the coordinating dies along with the new Slimline Paper Pack - Black and White Cat.

For my first card, I started by stamping a few of the different images from the Thinking of Mew set. I then took one of the patterned papers from the new Black and White Cat papers and added it to a slimline card base. I then die cut a white panel using the Slimline Swiss Dots die.

I figured out where my cats needed to be so that they could peek out of some circles and adhered them to the patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment and then adhered the Slimline Swiss Dots die cut with some foam adhesive and the card is complete.

For my second card, I went a completely different route. I started by doing some ink smooshing with Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks. I enjoyed the ink smooshing I did on this card so much that I wanted to do it again.

After my background was complete and dry, I stamped the largest image from the Thinking of Mew set onto my background with black ink. I then stamped a sentiment and mounted my panel onto a piece of black card stock.

I finished off the card with a few black sequins that I filled the centers with some black Nuvo drops.

Here is some additional inspiration from the rest of the Creative Team. They have really knocked it out of the park with this release.

I hope you've been inspired today. I appreciate you stopping by. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Super cute cards, Alanna. I especially like the first one with the checkered background that has paw prints. The kitty images are really sweet. I can well imagine how fun it was to ink smoosh the second card. Great vibrant colored background on that one. Thanks for sharing! Hope you can hunker down and stay safe this weekend! :)
