New Whimsy Stamps Release & 2 Slimline Halloween Cards

Thursday, August 20, 2020

Hi friends. There's an awesome new mini release at Whimsy Stamps today, primarily full of super fun Halloween and spooky goodness.  I have 2 cards to share with you today, both using the new Boo die collection with some other products in the shop.

For my first card, I started with a piece of white card stock measuring just under 3.5 x 8.5 inches. I took one of the dies from the Grass and Cloud Edger die set and ran it through my die cutting machine to create a "faux" stencil to create my cloudy background using a light grey and a super light purple ink pad.

I then die cut the ghosts from the Boo die collection using some holographic card stock for a fun touch. I die cut the large Boo word 3 times, twice with white card stock and then once with some purple glitter card stock.

I added my background panel onto my white slimline card base and then added the Slimline Windows die that I had cut with black card stock over top of it. I added my ghost and die cut sentiment and then decided to stamp the Happy Halloween sentiment which is from the Going Batty set.  I finished off the card by adding a few star enamel dots from my stash.

My second card is very similar to the first except this time, I didn't do a blended cloudy background. I also added Versamark ink pad to a piece of white card stock by smooshing it directly to paper. I then coated the card stock with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I heat set it and then die cut the ghosts from the Boo die collection from this.

I die cut the Boo word with both white card stock and then the same holographic card stock that I used above and stacked them together.

I die cut the Slimline Windows die and added it to my black slimline card base. I then added in my ghosts and die cut sentiment and the card is complete.

Here's some inspiration from the rest of the team.

I appreciate you stopping by today and hope you've been inspired. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna
