March Release for Whimsy Stamps - 2 Cards

Sunday, March 1, 2020

Hi friends. There is a brand new release at Whimsy Stamps that just hit the store. Here is a look at everything in this release.

Make sure to keep scrolling because I also have two projects to share with you today along with a graphic of 16 projects from the rest of the design team with inspiration using these new goodies.

For my first card today, I am using the new Shamrock Top Hat set. It is such a fun and unique set. I loved the big focal hat image and the designs drawn into it.

I started by stamping the image out and then just adding some simple coloring to the 3 shamrock images.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the set with some matching green ink.  I then die cut this panel using the largest die from the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set and matted it onto a piece of green specialty paper. Some clear pearls finish off the card.

For my second card, I took the Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress inks and smooshed them onto my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat and then spritzed some water onto each area of ink.

I then took my water color paper and smooshed it down onto my ink colors to get my fun background.  I did it a few times, sometimes drying the layers in between.

I then stamped the large sentiment which is also from the Shamrock Top Hat set with some black ink. I used my Misti so I could stamp it a few times since I was stamping on top of watercolor paper.

I then stamped one of the single shamrocks.

I die cut this panel using the largest scalloped oval die from the new Spring Ovals die collection.  I then used two of the other dies in the collection to create the fun decorative white oval frame.

Rounded corners finish off the card.

Here's a look at some inspiration from the rest of the team. Thanks so much for dropping by today. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Two terrific cards here, Alanna. The doodled image of the hat looks to be a fun one to color. :) And the ink smooshing on the second one is just so pretty! Thanks so much for sharing!
