Cards made Easy with Patterned Paper

Tuesday, October 8, 2019

Hi friends. I am up on the LDRS Creative blog today with two very CAS cards that let the gorgeous patterned paper from the Christmas Cottage collection take center stage.

If you haven't yet taken a look at all the scrumptious papers in the Christmas Cottage collection, you have to go check them out. The color palette is so fresh and fun and the patterns are absolutely fantastic.

For my first card today, I am using my favorite pattern from the package with the sweet birdhouse, bird and foliage. I absolutely love the colors.

I simply trimmed down the paper to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and matted it on a piece of light blue card stock.
I then heat embossed a sentiment from the Cardinal Seasons - Petal Pushers stamp set using the Watermark Emboss Pad from LDRS Creative. I then took the ticket type die from the coordinating Cardinal Seasons - Petal Pushers die collection and die cut my sentiment. I added some thin foam tape to the back of it and this card is complete.

For my second card today, I took another favorite pattern from the Christmas Cottage paper collection. This time, I trimmed it down to 4 x 5 1/4 and then layered it over a piece of red card stock. These two layers were added to a light blue card base.

As I did with the first card, I heat embossed another sentiment from the Cardinal Seasons - Petal Pushers set with white embossing powder onto the same light blue card stock that I used for the card base. I popped it up with some foam tape for added dimension.

I also white heat embossed a few of the leaf images from the Cardinal Seasons - Petal Pushers set and adhered them around my sentiment.

Here is a final look at both cards together. I hope you've been inspired today to pull out some patterned papers and let them do most of the work for your holiday card making.
