Hi friends. I am guest designing today with the fabulous ladies at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. February's challenge is being sponsored by Frantic Stamper.
Frantic Stamper is one of the only places in the US where you can get PaperArtsy products and PaperArtsy has been kind enough to give us some of their new paints to use on our challenge projects.
So mixed media is a bit out of my comfort zone but I couldn't refuse Donna's invitation to guest design so I got to work. I started by just brushing on the Berry paint onto the textured side of the Tim Holtz water color card stock. I squirted some out on my craft sheet and then just took my finger and smeared it around on my card. After that layer was dry, I did the same thing with the Nougat paint. I then used a stencil from MFT and took my translucent embossing paste and spread that over the stencil.
So now my base panel was done and it was time to think about something else to add to the card. I used the Delicious Cupcake die from Frantic Stamper and covered the cake part of the die with lots of yummy frosting which I made with Worn Lipstick distress ink and white embossing paste. I then added some Taupe color fragments from Stampendous. And because the challenge this month is glitter, I added some sparkly glitter to my frosting as well.
Once it was all dried, I added the cupcake to my card and placed my sentiment.
I hope you've enjoyed today's card and please be sure to check out the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge blog here. And blessings to everyone for a fabulous Monday.

Alanna...just love this card. Your cupcake looks so yummy.
Congratulations on the guest designer spot, Alanna! I think you did an excellent job on your first effort. The background looks really neat with the colors swirled around. Your cupcake frosting looks super. It looks like edible chunky glitter. :) Yay for working outside your comfort zone so wonderfully!
Cupcakes are just so sweet and this is darling with the glitter!!
What a scrumptious card Alanna! Love the shimmery frosting!
Oh wow what a pretty card! I love the colors, the fun brush stroke background, and of course the yummy cupcake!!
Congratulations for being a guest designer at MMC. Pretty card.
