American Cancer Society -- Relay for Life

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Hi friends.  Cancer is something that affects nearly everyone.  Unfortunately, it is a part of life but we can help fight against it.

Reynna, my 11 year-old daughter, and myself, have joined my work's Relay for Life team.  We will be walking the first week in June to help fight Cancer and promote awareness for Relay for Life.

As team members, we pledge to donate to help the cause and that's where I'm hoping you can help us out.

Click here to be taken directly to my participant site where you can make a tax-deductible donation online to contribute.

Thank you so much for considering this and helping us out.  Blessings to each of you and have a most wonderful day.

PTI Blog Hop

Monday, April 25, 2011

I had the chance to play along with this month's PTI blog hop, Boys to Men.

"This month's blog hop is dedicated to all the boys and men in our lives! Now's your chance to create Father's Day projects, boy birthday cards and more to build up your stash! Focus on masculine color
schemes, fresh pattern combinations, understated embellishments and unique uses of images you may already have in your stash!"

Now onto my card. I made it for my brother's birthday.  I just love all the matching dies for the stamps. So easy and convenient.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenge #21

Sunday, April 24, 2011

Good morning and Happy Easter.  This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is a great sketch from Peggy.  Remember though, the only real rule to play along is to make a holiday or Christmas card.

Patterned Paper: PTI

Other:  PTI Color Coutre

For those who celebrate the day, do you have any plans for Easter?  We'll have our regular church services and then my parents and some friends will come over to share our Easter dinner.  Should be a good time.

I hope that however you are spending the day, that it is a most terrific one for you.  Blessings to each of you.

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #39

Friday, April 22, 2011

Can I get a big woohoo for it being Friday?  LOL.  I'm happy that the work week is drawing to a close and that we will be celebrating Easter soon.

I haven't gotten to play in the challenges over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps in quite awhile but managed to make a card for this week's challenge, which is to use a handmade embellishment.  I used a rolled flower die from MFT for my handmade embellishment.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  Sparkle Creations Cupid Emily, PTI Mixed Messages

Other:  MFT die, PTI bakers twine

So tomorrow, the kids both have a karate tournament.  This will be their first one. I'm not really sure what to expect--all I can think about is the original Karate Kid movie, at the end, with the tournament.

We'll see how a real karate tournament compares to the movie.  I'm guessing that there probably won't be nearly as much drama.  LOL. Hopefully my kids have a good time.

Alrighty then, I'll see you back here on Sunday with my weekly Christmas card.  Until then, have a great day.

Just Because for Cardabilities

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Good morning.  I had a chance to play in my stamp room a couple of days ago and decided to get crafty.  I loved the sketch at Cardabilities this week so I used that.

I feel like my mojo has been MIA but I'm super happy with how my card turned out so yeah!

Patterned Paper:  PTI

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  MS border punch, PTI felt, dies, and button, flower from my stash

Thanks so much for your visit. I hope your week is going well.  Take good care.

Prom Night 2011

Friday, April 15, 2011

I mentioned last weekend that Devin and I were chaperones at his school's prom.  Here are just a few pictures of us before the "big dance".  LOL

So for a large portion of the time we were there, all I could think about was how it would just be a few years before Reynna would be attending prom and I got all nostalgic for my little girl who is growing up at an alarming rate.  What's a mom of a pre-teen to do?

I hope that your week has been going well and that you have a great Friday.  Blessings to each of you.

Christmas Card Challenge #19

Sunday, April 10, 2011

This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenge is to use bows on your card.  Remember, though, that the only real rule to play along is to make a Christmas or holiday themed card.  My bows are on the tops of the presents in the image.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey

Stamps:  Greeting Farm, PTI
Other: PTI die

So Devin and I chaperoned prom last night and had a good time.  It was fun to get dressed up.  I'll be sharing pictures later in the week of us before the big dance.

I hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #33 -- Make a box or a gift

Thursday, April 7, 2011

I'm late but this week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts is to make a box or a gift.  We are sponsored by the fabulous Meljen's Designs.  I chose to make a coordinating gift bag to go with the tag that I had previously made, both using Cuddle Cloud Baby.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  Meljen's Designs Cuddle Cloud Baby, PTI

Other:  PTI twine and tag die
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Thursday.

4 cousins

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

When my two nephews were out visiting last month, I took them and my children to get their pictures taken.  First off, WOW, that was a lot of work.  I'm glad I did it, though.  I thought I'd share a few pictures from the session.

I hope you have a great Wednesday!

Christmas Card Challenge #18

Monday, April 4, 2011

This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is to use stitching on your card.  Remember, though, that the only real rule is just make a Christmas or holiday card.  As you can see, my card is very, very simple but that's all I had time for.  This week is a prize week over at Christmas Card Challenges so make sure to head over, see what the other designers have for you, and then play along for your chance to win.

***Supplies***
Patterned paper:  My Minds Eye

Other:  MS border punch
So I know I haven't been around much.  There's been so much going on in my life the last couple of months and as such, my blog has been neglected.  I'm hoping to get back to more regular posting sometime within the next month.  Until then, my posts will continue to be sporadic, as well as my commenting on your fabulous blogs.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.
