On the Move at The Crazy Challenge

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

This week's challenge at The Crazy Challenge is "on the go".  I took a look through my stamps to see what I had that would work for this challenge.  I found this cute train stamp and thought, a train moves and let's you go places, so that's where I started.

In family news, the kids both tested last night in karate to see if they can move up a belt rank.  We won't know how they did for 2 more weeks. They both seemed to know what they were doing but we'll just have to wait and see.

A new challenge at Lollipop Crafts

Monday, November 29, 2010

Happy Monday to you.  I'm a bit sad that the long weekend is over but it's time to get back to reality, which is going to work 5 days this week.

Lollipop Crafts has a new challenge this week which is reading.  We went and saw the new Harry Potter movie over the weekend which was really good.  I got inspired to start reading the books, as I haven't read any of them.  {hangs head in shame}  I decided that a pretty bookmark would be fun to have as I started reading through the books.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  PTI dies and felt

I hope you'll check out Lollipop Crafts to see what the other designers have for you this week.  Thanks so much and I hope you have a fabulous Monday.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Well, it's the last week of the second year of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge.  Can you believe she's been doing these challenges for that long?

I don't know about you but all my Christmas cards are made for 2010.  Woo Hoo!  This week's challenge is a sketch challenge, created by the fabulous Peggy, which can be seen here

I used one of my RAK images from Sparkle and just love the way Bella looks in pink.  I added stickles to her dress to make her nice and sparkly.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  The Paper Studio

Stamps:  Stampin' Bella, PTI
Other:  Nesties, stickles, cuttlebug

As always, the other designers have wonderful cards for you to see so make sure and check them out.

Unscripted Sketches #83

Saturday, November 27, 2010

I had a couple requests for my toffee recipe so I'll post that early next week.  It's really not too hard to make and it is SO yummy.

So, did you have a good Thanksgiving?  Ours was a lovely day filled with good friends, family and friends.  Did anyone brave the crowds yesterday for Black Friday?  I did just a bit of shopping.

My card today is for this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  So is it just me or does that border punch remind you of the ribbon candy that you get around the holidays?
***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Tiny Treats Christmas

Other:  MS border punch, PTI buttons

As always, thank you so much for your visit and commnets.  I hope you enjoy your weekend.

PaperTrey Ink Blog Hop

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends.  I've got a fun post for you today.  I had so much fun making these tags for this month's PaperTrey Ink blog hop.

The challenge:   Design a holiday tag or two using all of your favorite goodies and share it with all of us! We will all have plenty of inspiration to create a large stash and try to get ahead of the hustle and bustle of the season!

I got out some coordinating supplies and just went to town, each tag slightly different.  All the blue pieces behind the focal stamp were cut with felt.  Can I tell you how much I love felt?  It gives such a fun look and provides lots of texture.  And of course I had to add some matching buttons.  Too much fun.

Each year, I like to make homemade English toffee and this year, my gifts are going to be gussied up a bit with these fun tags.  I suppose now that I have the tags, I'll have to work on some coordinating packaging, to complete the ensemble.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI, Paper Studio

Stamps:  PTI Everyday Treats
Other:  Various PTI dies, felt, buttons and bakers twine

Thanks so much for stopping by and if this is your first time to my blog, welcome.  Blessings to each of you this day.

A new challenge at Penny's Challenges

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Good morning to you.  I'm so happy that it's the last day of the workweek.  I could get used to a 3 day workweek.

It's time for a new challenge at Penny's Challenges.  This week, its a photo inspiration challenge.  Click here to see the photo that inspired this meager attempt at my card.  My mojo has utterly disappeared.  I think the stress of work and just being super busy in life is really taking its toll.  Okay, enough of my sad story.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI In Bloom

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  PTI buttons
Make sure and head over to the challenge blog to see what the other designers have for this challenge as they totally rocked it.  And for those celebrating Thanksgiving this week, good luck with your preparations.  I've still got to get to the store to pick up some veggies and some other goodies for the big day.

And as always, I appreciate each and every one of you who visits and comments.  Have a great Wednesday.

Christmas at Lollipop Crafts

Monday, November 22, 2010

Hello. It's time for another challenge at Lollipop Crafts and this week, I'm the hostess.  The challenge is to make something Christmas related.  I hope you'll have a chance to play along with us this week.

I've been wanting to make one of these felt trees for awhile now so that's what I did.  There is a greeting from a PTI set on the inside of the card.  I was also inspired by this card from Ted for the snowy hills.

As always, I hope you have a wonderful day.  Thanks for stopping by.

TGIF and 2 cards to share

Friday, November 19, 2010

TGIF!  I don't know if I've ever spoken truer words.  My work week has been super challenging and at times, very frustrating and I'm very glad that the weekend is almost here.  I definitely need a couple of days to recharge. And woohoo for next week being a short work week.  I absolutely adore Thanksgiving with the food, the shopping, the time off work.

Okay, enough of my blabbering.  Today, I've got two cards for you.  The first is a real simple one featuring a delicious cuttlebug folder.  Sparkle Creations is sponsoring this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches and they want to see cupcakes.
My next card is for this week's Sparkle Creations challenge which is to make a thank you card.  It's hard to tell but I used my white spica glitter pen on Charlotte's apron.  Super sparkly IRL.

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  Cuttlebug, MS border punch

Card 2

Very girly for Lollipop Crafts

Monday, November 15, 2010

This is my second post for today.

So I have to give a big shout out to the Broncos team who finally showed up to play.  Their win over the KS Chiefs has made things interesting and even my 3-6 Broncos might just have a shot at post-season play.

Okay, onto my card for this week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts which is to make something very girly.  To me, pink and bling are very girly so that's what I went with.  A real simple card but I think it packs a punch.

This also fits this week's challenge at Simon Says for sparkle.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Paper Studio

Stamps:  PTI
Other:  Nesties, PTI dies and button

Are you ready for a new week to start?  I would like to extend the weekend by a few days and get caught up on a few things but I don't think that my work would like that so I guess it's back to work for me.  I hope that you have a wonderful Monday.  Thanks for the visit.

Good morning.  Another week has come and gone and it's time for this week's challenge at Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenges.  This week's add-on challenge is to make a shaped card.  I've been wanting to try making a shaped card with my nesties for some time now so this gave me just the push I needed.

So the game was good yesterday.  I bundled up pretty good with lots of layers so that helped a ton with the snow and cold.  Plus, BYU killed CSU.  It was fun to see them play so well and to hang with my family.

Something altered for Penny's Challenges

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

It's time for another challenge at Penny's Challenges this week.  The challenge is to alter something.  I decided to take my blank checkbook cover and make a fun cover for my friend.  Hi Shannon!  I had the glittery cardstock in my stash and had subsequently, bought the glitter stickers.  Little did I know that I had the perfect match just waiting to be put together.

What's even more crazy is that when I gave this to Shannon, she showed me her wallet clutch which has the exact shade of pink sparkliness. All the way around, it was a match made in heaven.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Paper Studio
Other:  Thickers stickers, MS border punch

I hope you'll go check out the challenge blog and see what the other designers have for you.  And then have yourself a most fabulous Wednesday.
