My card today is for this week's challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. Here's the inspiration photo.
I chose the strawberries as my inspiration.

So I totally messed up coloring the shoes.  I wasn't paying attention so it looks a bit funny but there was no time for a color redo.

Vacation - Part 2 -- Camping and playing at the beach

Thursday, July 29, 2010

This is my second post for the day so scroll down to see some art for the day if you haven't already.

Our vacation continued with us leaving Portland Sunday morning after a lovely breakfast.  We started the trek to Olympic National Forest and the campground we'd be staying at.  It was just along the coast about 5 hours from Portland.  We stayed 2 nights and had a great time.  I have to admit that I was very chilly for most of the time there.  We used a lot of firewood and kept a fire burning at all times.

The kids loved playing on the beach and getting their feet wet.  This was definitely a "no swimming" beach because of the very large pieces of driftwood that come in.  Not to mention the chilly temperatures, even in July.

These pics are of my kids and nephews and nieces who loved seeing eachother and having fun.

Thanks for visiting and letting me share these fun photos with you.  I can't wait to get some printed to scrap them.

Vacation --Part 1 -- A day in Portland

Monday, July 26, 2010

I'll be dividing up our vacation pictures in several posts because there are so many.  Our first stop was Portland Oregon where we saw my cousin David and his friend.  They took us out to eat at a local pizza place that was within walking distance from his apartment.  We then stopped at a fabulous little place and had chocolates and the yummiest shakes ever.

The next morning,we went to breakfast, again within walking distance and then we left them and headed out on our own.  The Rose Garden along with the zoo were both within walking distance.  Once our car was parked when we arrived, we didn't get back in it until we left.  The Rose Garden was so pretty.

Here's a couple pictures of the kids resting.  I just love Christopher's pose in this one. I wonder what he was thinking about.

There was also a wonderful park real close which had a really fun see saw.  We all had a lot of fun playing on it.

After the park and Rose Garden, we walked just a bit further to the Portland zoo where you take a train ride to the zoo entrance.

After the zoo, we were all definitely exhausted and spent the rest of the evening resting.  It was a great in Portland and I definitely want to go back and spend more time.

Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenge #34

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Welcome to another challenge from Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenges.  This week's optional challenge is to use a wreath.

I didn't have any stamps with a wreath so decided to take a Martha Stewart branch punch and arrange several together to resemble a wreath.  I messed with the placement of my branches many times and ultimately, this is how it turned out.

My card also fits the challenge at Drunken Stampers who want to see a Christmas card.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Signature Christmas

Other:  MS punch, PTI Buttns

Hey, did you know that there is exactly 5 months until Christmas?  If you haven't started your Christmas 2010 cards, it's not too late.  Start now and come play with us.  You won't be sorry.  Thanks for your visit.  Have a great Sunday.
