Unscripted Sketches #40

Saturday, January 30, 2010

First off, thanks to everyone for all the well wishes.  I'm feeling much better now but still have a lingering cough.  Hopefully that goes away soon.

The girls at Unscripted Sketches have another great sketch for you to play with this week.  It's so fun to see what everyone comes up with and I hope you'll play along this week.

I've had these pictures printed for awhile now and wanted to scrap them. This will be one page of the future 2-page spread. Once I get the other layout done, I'll decide where I want to do my journaling. Reynna and her good friend Aspen played one afternoon and I believe they tried on all of Reynna's clothes.  I loved the poses that the two of them were doing in these pics.  Such diva girls.

***Supplies***
Other:  EK Success border punch, CTMH flowers and buttons, sticker from unknown source
It's a real simple layout but hey, you didn't expect anything else from me, right?  I'm happy to have these pictures scrapped.

I hope you all are having a fantastic day and that it is all that you hoped it would be.  Until later my friends.

A Christmas card

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I'm sorry I haven't been visiting you all lately.  I've been sick since Saturday afternoon and other than work, the couch has been my near constant companion.  I'm still not feeling that great and am hoping that whatever I have, will leave soon.  I need to get back to my old self.  There's no time for being sick.

I made this card real quick on Saturday morning.  I pretty much let the patterned paper take care of the card.  It's my entry for Sparkle's Christmas card challenge.  I'll also enter this into this week's Practical Scrappers challenge for patterned paper.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Source unknown

Other:  Fiskars punch, CTMH ribbon and button

Thanks for visiting my spot in the world.  I hope to be by visiting you all real soon.  Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.

Unscripted Sketches #39

Saturday, January 23, 2010

It's time for another great sketch from Unscripted Sketches.  I used some more of my DCWV paper.  It didn't photograph but the paper is full of glitter.

Hey, did you know that Unscripted Sketches is on Facebook?  Also, go check out the new blog look.  I think you'll like it. Make sure to see the slideshow of the other designer's projects with this week's sketches.  You won't be disappointed.
***Supplies***
Patterned paper:  DCWV Nana's Nursery

Stamps:  CTMH Happy Birthday
Other:  MS border punch, PTI and CTMH buttons

I ended up staying home with Christopher yesterday.  He was sick over the weekend but seemed to be feeling better but got sick at school late Thursday.  My poor baby.

I'm still at it on the Wii Fit.  Luckily, it's getting easier and I can walk without wincing now.  LOL. If you've been hesitating about getting one of these, it's so worth it.  There are so many activities to help get you in shape.  And you can have fun at the same time.

I was able to get my next test scheduled.  End of February it is.  One of these days, I won't have to study anymore.

As always, thanks so much for your visit and any comments that you may leave.  I love reading each and every one of them.  I hope you all have a great Saturday.

Whoville photo

Friday, January 22, 2010

Both children took part in a Dr. Suess Whoville play at school right before Christmas break.  I wasn't able to attend but Reynna and I worked on her hair and had several pipe cleaners wrapped around her pony tail trying to get it to stand straight up.  It stayed tall for awhile but then it started drooping.

I'm forgetting the name of the character that Reynna was but she likes pink and had hair like above.  Any big Dr. Suess fans out there?  Both kids reported that it was lots of fun.

Penny's challenge with inchies

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

There's a brand new challenge starting today over at Penny's challenges.  This week, participants are to use "inchies".  I started by stamping my heart image 4 times and then used my 1 inch square punch to punch them out.  They were then matted with a slightly larger scalloped punch. And don't you just love that heart border punch?  It was also courtesy of my Christmas gift card.

My card also uses this week's Sweet Sunday sketch from Karen and this week's challenge from Creative Belli is to use hearts. I'll also enter it into this week's challenge at Practical Scrappers for embossing. Crafty Creations also wants to see something with a Valentine or love theme. Finally, A Spoon Full of Sugar wants to see lots of layering.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  CTMH Elegant Bouquet

Stamps:  CTMH
Other:  MS border punch, Cuttlebug, Dew Drops

Make sure to check out the blog for Penny's challenges to see the other fabulous creations by the designers and then come play with us.

In other news, we got a Wii Fit Plus over the weekend and I've been working on that each day.  I have to say that I don't know if I've ever been in as much pain.  My thighs are killing me.  Which I suppose is a good thing and I know it won't last forever.  My body is just going into shock from the exercise.  I am excited to continue though and to see the progress I can make.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you have a great hump day.

Unscripted Sketches #38

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I'm having a hard time believing that it's Saturday already.  This week has gone by pretty fast.  I've got a card for you using this week's sketch from Unscripted Sketches.  Since I can't color, I chose to leave my Bella plain.  What do you think?  Dumb? Ok?  If I actually had the stamp, I probably would have paper pieced her but it was a RAK image so it's a no-go on that.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI In Bloom

Stamps:  Stampin Bella, PTI Everyday Button Bits
Other:  PTI ribbon and buttons, CTMH pearls

Thanks for your visit and I wish all of you a happy Saturday. Make sure to check out the other designers and the new look on the Unscripted blog.

Happy birthday with Stars

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

I made this card and a few others like it to have on hand a couple of weeks ago.  I love the glittery paper.  So yummy. In typical fashion, I've listed this card in the 10-minute card label.  It fits this weeks challenge at Crazy4Challenges for a birthday card.  Practical Scrappers wants to see bling and glitter.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  My Minds Eye

Stamps:  CTMH Happy Birthday
Other:  Cuttlebug, PTI buttons

So we finally got our car back earlier this week.  I will spare you the agony of what it cost to get it fixed.  Let's just say, I could have shopped for a long time with the money spent.  Things could be worse though so I am staying positive.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you have a great Wednesday.

Celebrate

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Yeah for Saturday and after taking a couple of weeks off from sketches, Unscripted Sketches is back for 2010.

It's hard to tell in the photo but there's lots of glittery goodness on this paper. Don't you just love paper that comes pre-blinged? And yes, I just made that word up.  LOL.  My card is also for this week's challenge at Papertake Weekly which is new beginnings.  I definitely think a new baby counts as a new beginning.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  DCWV Nana's Nursery

Stamps:  CTMH Happy Birthday
Other:  FLower punch, ribbon, staples, PTI button

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a fantastic Saturday.  As always, I've got too much to do and not enough hours in the day to get it all accomplished.  And remember to head over to Unscripted to check out this week's sketch and to play along with us.

Chalks for Penny's challenges

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Well, if you couldn't tell by the title, this week's challenge at Penny's challenges is to use chalks on your project.  I have to admit that I had to wipe the dust off my chalks as they have not been used in quite some time.  I didn't do anything fancy with them.  Just a light coloring of the embossed flower portions.

***Supplies***
Other:  Cuttlebug, CTMH chalks and ribbon, MS butterfly punch

Make sure and check out Penny's challenge blog for the other DT member's creations and then why don't you play with us?  Yeah for hump day! See you later.

4 Flowers

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

I've got a card for this week's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge, which is to use something that starts with a B.  Of course I decided on my most favorite embellie, buttons.  My card, along with 99% of the cards I make, fit the bill for this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner.  What's the challenge?  Clean and Simple.  Definitely right up my alley. I also thought the swiss dots embossing folder would work for the polka dot challenge at Crazy4Challenges.  Lastly, the challenge at Stamp Something is to use something new.  The stamp set I used hadn't seen any ink yet.  Finally, Practical Scrappers wants you to use buttons.  Woo Hoo.  I'll add a sentiment on the inside when I give the card away.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  CTMH Dainty Thoughts

Other:  Cuttlebug, PTI ribbon and buttons, CTMH waxy flax

I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday.  Thanks for the visit and love.  I'm still mourning the Bronco's loss from Sunday and the fact that they didn't make the playoffs.  They started out with such promise this season, only to fail miserably in the end.  Aaaggghhhhh.  What's a girl to do who loves sports and loves her teams?

Wrapping paper on a card

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Well, here it is only a week past Christmas and I've got a Christmas card for you.  It's time to get cracking on next year's cards.  My card is of course for Sparkle's weekly Christmas card challenge that she does on Sundays.  I also was intrigued by this week's Everything but the Kitchen Sink challenge, which is to use wrapping paper.  That's where the main background came from.  A roll of Christmas wrapping paper.  How fun is that?
***Supplies***
Stamps:  CTMH

Other:  MS border punch, wrapping paper, CTMH twill ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for all the comments left yesterday about my 2010 goals.  It is kind of a duanting list but I'm anxious to make it all happen.  I hope you have a great Sunday.  After church, we'll be going to friends for dinner, so that should be fun.

Celebrating the New Year with an Unscripted Blog Hop

Saturday, January 2, 2010

EDITED TO ADD:  Congrats Linda L.  Random # generator picked 28.  Contact me with the email on my sidebar and I'll get your goodies out to you.  Thanks again to everyone for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I loved reading them all.

Today, the designers at Unscripted Sketches have a special blog hop for you.  If you've arrived from Unscripted, then you are on the right track, as I'll be kicking off the hop.
I've been thinking a lot about a new year and what that means to me.  It's a new year to implement some changes, a new year to improve, and a new year to reflect.

I thought I'd list out my top 10 goals for 2010, in no particular order.

1.  Have an improved family life with less contention and strife
2.  Pass the CPA exam
3.  Lose 15 pounds
4.  Read my scriptures daily
5.  Pray daily
6.  Complete 100 layouts
7.  Develop a more personal relationship with my Saviour, Jesus Christ
8.  Take guitar lessons
9.  Make 2 more design teams
10.  To improve at whatever task is at hand, no matter how big or small

It's now time to hop on over to April's blog and see what she has in store for you.  I thank you for your visit and for making blogging so much fun.  As my New Years gift to you, blog candy will be offered to all leaving a comment.  I'm still in the process of putting it together so unfortunately, there's no picture right now.  I'll draw the winner Sunday evening. Thanks so much and have a fantastic Saturday.

Animal Lover

Friday, January 1, 2010

I was able to make it down to my craft area and come up with this layout.  I'm still working on the companion layout.  I used this week's sketch from The Scrappiest. I'm not happy with how the title got lost in the paper but I'm afraid I'll ruin it if I try to move the stickers so they are staying put.
I loved these pictures of Christopher a few years back.  He loves all animals and had fun snuggling the kitten that we got for my brother-in-law.  It's a real simple layout but I'm sure that doesn't surprise any of you who frequent this blog regularly.  But hey, it is a layout done, complete with journaling and all.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  My Minds Eye
Stamps:  CTMH Comments
Other:  CTMH alphabet stickers, Nesties, MS border punch

I hope everyone is having a great New Year's Day.  Even though I don't drink, I feel somewhat hungover due to the lateness of the hour in which I went to sleep last night.  We had a great night with good friends.  Thanks so much Shannon for hosting.  Unfortunately, my poor old body doesn't do 2 am very well.

Remember to check back tomorrow for our special Unscripted blog hop where I'll be revealing some of my resolutions goals for 2010.
