Studio J Wednesday -- The Hoover Dam

Happy Wednesday to all of you.  Today's layout features pictures taken last year when Devin and I went to Las Vegas with some family.  During our trip, we went to see the Hoover Dam and the newly constructed bridge. Such a beautiful sight.

Challenge #68 for Lollipop Crafts -- Anything Goes

Hi friends. Today's card is for this week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts which is an anything goes challenge so head on over, look at what the other designers have to share, and then link up your own crafty creations.

I needed a thinking of you card for a family who is having a rough time with things right now.  When I saw this card from Christina and knew I had to CASE it.  I used the same flowers but then changed things up just a bit. My second cardstock layer is popped up from the A-2 card base. I also popped up the smaller flower for more dimension.

Christmas Card Challenges #12 -- Paisley

Good morning friends. This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is to use paisley on your Christmas or holiday cards. Remember, though, that the only real rule to play along is to make a Christmas or holiday card.

I pulled out this old Cuttlebug embossing folder for the paisley piece of my card.  I cut the horse and sleigh out of felt.

Studio J Wednesday -- Karate Tournament

This week's Studio J layout features pictures taken at the Sei Shin Kan karate tournament last April.  The kids both did really well and had a blast and we are looking to this year's tournament later this spring.

Edited to add:  Thanks to a lovely reader who alerted to my of my typo in the journaling spot.  Here I thought I proofread my journaling so carefully before submitting my layout for printing.  I'll have to do something creative to fix the mistake.

Studio J Wednesday -- Making cotton candy

Happy hump day to you all.  Today's Studio J layout features pictures taken last year when we used the cotton candy maker that Devin had gotten me for Christmas.  Anyone who knows me knows that I love all things sugary.  And it doesn't really get any more sugary than cotton candy.  It was a lot of fun to make and to eat.

Christmas Card Challenges #10 -- Create your own Backgrounds

This week's optional challenge, in addition to making a holiday or Christmas card at Christmas Card Challenges is a fun one. We want you to make your own background. 

My card is also for PTI's Day 1 anniversary festivities. I chose the card Maile Belles posted. I love the background, colors and buttons.  I love all the projects from the PTI designers and am happy to have found this company to help make me go broke support.
I chose one of the images from PTI's Cheveron Stripes to create my background. I just stamped the image 5 times.

The only thing I'm not sure about my card is the pink gemstones I've got.  All I know is that I wanted to add just a touch of these to the card but really was at a loss to place them. Plus, I was thinking that I should add a third but really couldn't find a good place for it.  What do you all think?  I wish I was better at knowing what looked good visually.

Will any of you be watching the Super Bowl?  We love football in our house but this game just seems so anti-climatic to me.  I'll be rooting for the Giants, even though I am not a fan of Eli Manning, as it was the Patriots who stomped on my team a few weeks ago to end their playoffs.

Studio J Wednesday -- Christopher's Baptism

Today's Studio J layout features pictures taken last June at Christopher's baptism. It was such a special day and I'm so proud of him and the decision he made to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Doesn't he just look so handsome? 

Can you believe we are in February already? Where or where did the month of January go?  Didn't we just have Christmas?  I don't know about you but time sure is flying by.  Hugs and blessings to each of you.
