Saturday, October 30, 2010

Happy Saturday to you.  Are you ready for another fantastic sketch from Unscripted Sketches?  I made another Christmas card.  At this point, I think I have enough Christmas cards to send in another month but it always seems that my list grows after my initial list, so I'll keep making them.

***Supplies***

Other:  Nesties, Cuttlebug, gems from my stash, PTI button, CTMH waxy flax

What are you all doing for Halloween?  We'll be going to a church activity tonight and then let the kids do a bit of trick-or-treating Sunday night.  Christopher is Captain Rex from Star Wars and Reynna is a zombie princess.  I'll post pictures later of them in their costumes.

Thanks so much for your visit.  I hope you have a very wonderful day.

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #16

Friday, October 29, 2010

Can I get a woo hoo for Friday?  I made time to play in this week's inspiration challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps this week.  What a gorgeous picture.  This also fits the embossing challenge at The Creative Cottage.

I wish I was Lucy just floating away in a pool at a nice resort, without a care in the world.  Doesn't that just sound heavenly?  Someday, someday.  Oh, and I'd definitely take her flat stomach as well.  LOL

It's scrapbook/crafty night at my house tonight so I'm looking forward to hanging out with my friends.  I never seem to be prepared so I hardly ever get anything accomplished but that's okay.

Happy Sweet 16 Arianne

Saturday, October 16, 2010

This is my second post for today.  If you're looking for my Unscripted Sketches post for the blog hop, scroll down one post.

Those of you who have been readers for awhile now might remember this post from 2008 and this one from 2009 wishing my sweet baby Arianne a very happy birthday.  Well, my baby, that I only ever knew as a baby, is growing up and turns 16 today.  It's hard for me to think of her as a teenager because I only have pictures of her from her first year of life.

I thought I'd share a layout I did featuring pictures taken when she was 2 weeks old, in the room where I said goodbye to her and placed her in the arms of her eager adoptive parents.

Arianne, I love you with all my heart.  I can only pray that you know that your birth mother loves you with all of her heart and that I did what I did because of that great love.  Sweet blessings to you and your family.

With all my love,
Your mother

Christopher earns his yellow belt in Karate

Thursday, October 14, 2010

I thought I'd share these couple pictures of Christopher getting his yellow belt.  A big thanks to my friend Andrea for taking these for me as I forgot my camera.  Yikes, what kind of mother am I?

Both Christopher and Reynna are in karate this semester.  Reynna's not that please that Christopher is a higher belt than she is but she'll be catching up real soon.  They both seem to really like it so I guess the 2 1/2 hours I spend each Monday night is all worth it.  Both kids will test in late November and results will be made known in December.

So long as it Flies for Penny's Challenges

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Happy Hump day to you. How is your week going?  Mine's going okay, just the usual busyness.  It's time for a new challenge at Penny's Challenges, which is "as long as it flies".

I wanted to use this absolutely FABULOUS embossing folder.  I am in love with the design and the butterflies.  So pretty.  I ended up keeping the card uber simple but love the embossing folder so much that I'm okay without adding anything else.  I'm definitely going to make several more of these cards and then package them up for a gift.

Have a good day. I'll see you back here later in the week. Take care.
