Make a Wish

Thursday, April 29, 2010

I've got another card that we'll be mass producing for our Relay efforts next month.  It's hard to tell in the photo but I added stickles to the candle for a bit of bling.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Cupcake Collection, Vintage Labels

Other:  Cuttlebug, MS border punch, Nesties
Thanks for stopping by.  Can you believe we're already to Thursday?  Yeah!

Penny's Challenges -- Sponsored by Busy Beauties Boutique

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Happy Wednesday to you.  It's time for another challenge at Penny's challenges.  This week, the challenge is to make a shaped card.  We were also sponsored by Busy Beauties Boutique, a lovely store with digital images. .

I used my Cricut to cut out the shape of my card.  I can't remember which cartridge I used now, though.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  CTMH, Busy Beauties Boutique A rose from Rosey

Other:  Cricut, CTMH ribbon and button

We had so many particpants join us the last 2 weeks over at the challenge blog.  So much fun.  Make sure to go check out what the other designers have created.  Most importantly, have a wonderful day.

Pictures from Earth Day 2010

Monday, April 26, 2010

I've got a few pics from last week's Earth Day.  The kids were excited to wear their T-shirts celebrating the occasion.  I just love what they say.

Thanks for looking.  Have a great afternoon.

Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week #21

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Good morning to you.  It's time for another challenge at Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenges.  The challenge this week is to use pink as the main color.  My most favorite color EVER!  It also fits this week's challenge at Bah Humbug which is Christmas themed and also wants pink. Raise the Bar also wants something made with your favorite color.  Lastly, it's also for Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge.

I decided to make a Christmas thank you card, one that can be easily reproduced.  It's kind of hard to tell in the photo but I did stitch around the paper.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses

Stamps:  PTI Signature Christmas
Other:  CTMH ribbon, nesties, PTI buttons

So soccer ended up being cancelled yesterday.  The rains were just too much.  I also visited the eye doctor earlier in the week and found time to pick out a new pair of frames yesterday.  Sitting in front of a computer all day is certainly wreaking havoc on my eyes.  I pretty much have the glasses to take a bit of the strain off my eyes from them having to focus so much.  They have definitely  made a difference in how my eyes feel.  Before, they were so tired and they just hurt.  Now, it's much more rare that they hurt.

Make sure and head over to the blog to see the other cards from my co- design team members.  You will love them.  I hope you have a terrific day.

Unscripted Sketches #52 and an Earth Day Blog Hop

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Happy Saturday to you.  The designers at Unscripted Sketches are taking part in a blog hop celebrating Earth Day.  We were to use something recycled on our projects. I am starting off the hop today so you are on the right track.   My card also fits this week's challenge at PaperPlay Challenges which is to use no patterned paper and this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner for blooming blossoms.

I used a carrier sheet from a stamp set's packaging as my recycled materials.  I punched out 2 flowers with my flower punch and then layered my buttons on the two tallest flowers.  It's kind of faint in the picture but if you look close, you can see them.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Blooming Button Bits, Signature Greetings
Other:  PTI buttons
You'll now want to hop over to April's blog to see the eye candy she has for you.  And then go ahead and finish the hop and then come play with this week's sketch.

Any big plans for any of you today?  We have another soccer game and I'm still hoping for decent weather.  Last week, it decided to start raining about 5 minutes before the game.  Luckily, it was just a medium rainfall, not a true downpour.  We got a bit wet but still enjoyed ourselves.  Christopher was goalie for 1 quarter and didn't allow any goals to be scored.  We're still waiting for his first goal of the season but he's making progress and most importantly, he seems to be having fun.

However, we have had severe rain for the past couple of days so I'm not holding my breath.  And then there is the most fun chore of laundry.  How does it build up so fast?  I'm thinking of implementing a 5 garment per week maximum for each of us.  LOL.  I definitely hope to make it into the stamp area today.  I haven't gotten to do much crafting this week.  :(

I hope that whatever your day entails, that you have a most fabulous day.  As always dearies, thanks so much for the visit and love that you show me.  Take good care.

Another possible card

Friday, April 23, 2010

Here's another possible card for our Relay team.  I've been wanting to make a flower out of old book print for quite some time now.  I punched out the flower 6 times and then used a small brad to fasten all the layers together and then just put my button over the brad.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI Green Tea Leaves

Stamps:  PTI Signature Greetings
Other:  Cuttlebug, Marvy punches, PTI button
I hope you all have a great Friday.  I don't think we have anything planned for tonight.  Hopefully just a lazy night at home.

Flowers in a Vase

Thursday, April 22, 2010

My card today just came about because I wanted to play with these stamps and papers.  I tried to fit a sentiment on it but didn't like how it got lost on the paper in the bottom right corner so I suppose it will work for any occasion.  Now that I think about it, we all need some of those kind of cards in our stash, right?
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI Turning a New Leaf

Stamps:  PTI Blooming Button Bits
Other:  CTMH ribbon, PTI buttons

Thanks for stopping by.  You know I truly appreciate each and every one of you.  Have a great day.

Friendship is the source of the greatest pleasures

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Yeah for it not being Monday anymore.  Plus, Tuesday is my favorite night of TV.  American Idol and Lost.  Woo Hoo.  There's not too much to say about my card except that I hope it brought a smile to my friend who I sent it to.  Hi Andrea!
***Supplies***
Patterned paper:  CTMH More to Adore
Other:  MME diecut, Marvy flower punches, CTMH button

I hope you have a great day.  We are having a firm-wide breakfast today.  It's a tradition after the busy tax season.  Unfortunately, my busy season never seems to end.  An auditor's work is never ending, that's for sure. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a nice breakfast and hanging out with my co-workers in a non-work situation.

Thanks for your visit and blessings to you.

Celebrate your Day!

Monday, April 19, 2010

Howdy.  My card today was shamelessly lifted from this card by Arielle.  I absolutely fell in love with it and had to recreate it.  She used this sketch from Clean&Simple Stamping.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Signature Greetings

Other:  Cuttlebug, PTI dies and buttons

Thanks so much to Arielle for the inspiration.  I'll be presenting this card, along with some others, to our Relay for Life team at work.  In keeping with the theme of lighting more candles, we will be making birthday cards to sell at our booth at Relay to raise more money.

Sparkle Christmas Card Challenge #20 --- My first time using a Digi Image

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Happy Sunday to you all.  It's time for another challenge from Sparkle Creations Christmas Card Challenges.  Say that 5 times fast.  LOL.  Anyway, the challenge this week is to use a digi image.  Can you believe this is the very first time I've used one?  I'm not sure why I haven't done it before.  I think I was intimidated.  It was really easy and I love that you can resize the images in whatever size you need.

My card is also for these challenges.
Pixie Cottage--buttons
Fab's Big Christmas Cards Challenge--Christmas
Little Red Wagon -- dry embossing
Corrosive Challenges -- texture
Cute Card Thursday -- touchy feely
Paper Sundaes -- no people

***Supplies***
Stamps:  Pink Cat Studio Hootie Owl, PTI Signature Christmas

Other:  Cuttlebug, PTI buttons, liquid applique

Make sure and head over to the challenge blog to see what the other design team members came up with.  You're going to love their cards.  I hope you'll play along with us.  You won't be sorry that you started your Christmas cards early.

Unscripted Sketches #51

Saturday, April 17, 2010

Well, we made it to another Saturday which means a new sketch over at Unscripted Sketches. At first, the sketch intimidated me just a bit and I wasn't sure how I was going to pull off the element where I have my butterfly.  In the end, I'm pretty happy with my card.

I think the only thing you can't see is that the butterfly got misted with some pearl glitter spray, courtesy of my last week's Archivers trip.  It's so sparkly and glittery but none of it got picked up on the camera.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI Green Boutique

Other:  MS butterfly punch, CTMH gems, Amercian Crafts Thickers Stickers

I hope you have a great Saturday.  We've got soccer today.  We still haven't had a totally nice day out where I haven't frozen outside watching the game.  Here's hoping that today is that day.

I hope that you all have a fantastic Saturday and rest of the weekend.  I'll be back tomorrow with my weekly Christmas card.  It's showcasing something that I've never done before.  Any guesses as to what it might be?

Thank you for being so Thoughtful

Thursday, April 15, 2010

I made this card and 7 more like it as part of my gift to a co-worker's baby shower.  I thought she might enjoy having some thank you cards ready.  This fits the challenge over at ABC Challenges which is S for sparkle this week.  Practical Scrappers also wants to see glitter and bling.  It's hard to tell but the paper is full of sparkle. I also found a new challenge blog, CAS-tastic.  Clean and simple is what they want.  Well, we all know that is where my heart lies.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  My Minds Eye

Stamps:  PTI Signature Greetings
Other:  MS butterfly punch and border punch, gems

Hope you're having a great Thursday.  We're so close to the weekend.  Yeah!

Sending you a Smile for Penny's Challenges

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Happy Wednesday to you all.  I've got a real sweet and simple card today for Penny's Challenges.  The challenge for the next 2 weeks is open--anything goes.  Winner will receive a Sassy Studio digi stamp.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI In Bloom

Other:  PTI Color Coutre, Fiskars border punch, flower and button from my stash
I hope you'll head over to Penny's Challenges and look to see what the other designers have come up with.  And then go ahead and play with us.  It doesn't get any easier than this challenge.  LOL.

I'll see you  back here another day.  Take care friends!

Thanks

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

First, I'm sorry to be a bit neglectful in my blog hopping as of late.  I have come down with something and am just barely hanging on.

I needed a couple of thank you cards so I made this up for my parents who were kind enough to send me a congrats on passing your exam gift.  I had fun spending it at Archivers this past weekend.  I'll have to post a pic of what I bought.  I love it and all of my stickers and rub-ons are so accessible right now.

My friend came over last week and helped me out with my sewing machine again.  I wanted to sew with more than pink thread but couldn't remember how to change and wind the bobbin.  I now have black and white thread to sew with.  Slowly but surely, I'm getting the hang of it.

Because the paper is pretty busy, I kept it pretty simple.  Isn't that super yummy paper though? My card is for the Stamp Something challenge for stitching.
***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Cosmo Cricket

Stamps:  CTMH Thank You
Other:  CTMH pearls and ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and making blogging worthwhile.  I'm so fortunate to have made some good cyber friends and truly appreciate the time that everyone spends on this obsession hobby of ours.

Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge #19

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Sparkle has a great sketch for us to use this week in her weekly Christmas card challenge blog.  It also fits these Christmas challenges.

Fab's Big Christmas Cards Challenge--Christmas
ABC Christmas Challenge--H is for Holly

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey

Stamps:  CTMH Christmas Melodies
Other:  Cuttlebug, Fiskars border punch, CTMH gems

I loved checking out the cards last week's participants made.  Super, super cute.  Make sure and check out the other design team members cards for this week here.  You won't be disappointed.  There is enormous talent over there.

That's all for me today.  I hope you have a great Sunday.  Blessings to each and every one of you.

Unscripted Sketches #50

Saturday, April 10, 2010

Well, it's Saturday which means another great sketch from Unscripted Sketches.  I decided I better get a move on making a few Mother's Day cards.

***Supplies***
Patterned Paper:  PTI In Bloom

Stamps:  PTI Blooming Button Bits
Other:  CTMH button, Cuttlebug, and MS border punch

Make sure to head over to Unscripted to see what the other ladies have come up with.  I've already seen most of them and wowsers, there is some great art over there.  Also, go check out to see the design team's picks for last week's Top 3.

I've got a pretty busy day today.  Christopher has his second soccer game.  I'm hoping that the weather is a bit nicer for this one.  Last week, we just about blew away.  Tonight, a good friend's son is getting baptized and then we are meeting some friends from my work for a 30th birthday celebration at a local Mexican restaurant.  Yum.

I hope that whatever your day brings you, happiness and joy tops the list.  Until later.

Hello and Happy Friday

Friday, April 9, 2010

Happy Friday to you.  I've got a card today with THE cutest paper ever.  I just love those little umbrellas.  Did you notice my flower frog?  Laurel uses one, although hers isn't an ugly green color and I just had to get one.  Thanks Laurel for helping me figure out what in the heck a flower frog was.

***Supplies***
Patterned paper:  My Minds Eye Quite Contrary

Stamps:  PTI Friends til the End
Other:  Cuttlebug, PTI buttons
I'm super excited because I'm going with a few other girls from work to a crop at the Archivers about an hour away.  Can you believe I've never been to that store?  I'm super excited.  I hope that your Friday is fabulous.  As always, thanks for stopping by.  I'll see you back here for my Unscripted Sketches card.

Wishing you a Happy Day

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

I have another card using more Color Coutre goodies.  It's real simple, as are 99% of my cards but I liked it.
***Supplies***
Other:  Cuttlebug, PTI buttons and Color Coutre

So, I watched New Moon a couple of nights ago.  I loved it.  I'm totally team Edward.  Devin watched it with me and decided that he is team Alice (Edward's sister).  LOL.  I haven't read that book yet but want to go read Eclipse right now as I'm dying to see how things turn out and progress.

I've been a bit slow getting on the Twilight bandwagon because of my exam but that's all changed now.  I can't wait for the movie to come out this summer and to catch up on the books.  What a fabulous story.

I hope you have a great Wednesday.  We're almost halfway through the week.  Thanks for your visit.

Sparkle's weekly Christmas card challenge #18

Sunday, April 4, 2010

The day has come for my first post as part of Sparkle's DT for her Christmas card challenge blog.  I'm super excited and loved this picture she gave us for inspiration.  Don't those cookies look absolutely fabulous?  I drew my inspiration from both the colors and the snowman.

My card is also for Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge, Bah Humbug for Christmas and embossing, and Our Creative Corner wants buttons. It also fits the challenge over at Delightful Sketches for buttons and bling.

***Supplies***
Stamps:  PTI Signature Christmas, Vintage Labels; CTMH Snowman
Other:  Cuttlebug, Nesties, snowflake punch, CTMH buttons, stickles

Since it's the first Sunday of the month, there is a prize to be given to one lucky participant.  I hope you'll come play with us as we get our Christmas cards ready throughout the year.  I've already said this but I think it's worth mentioning again.  I had nearly 60 cards ready to send out by the beginning of last December, thanks to Sparkle and her weekly challenges.  I have to tell you, it felt really good to send out handmade cards instead of store bought.

Anyway, link your creation up here and I'd love to come check it out.  Also, using the above picture for inspiration on your card is not necessary.  Any Christmas or winter themed card will do.

Have a great Sunday and a fabulous Easter day.

Unscripted Sketches #49 plus a Treasure Hunt

Saturday, April 3, 2010

It's a big day over at Unscripted Sketches.  We are celebrating our 1st blogiversary with a fabulous sketch and a treasure hunt.  First, here is my card for this week's sketch. I absolutely loved this sketch and I think you will to.

***Supplies***
Other:  My Minds Eye diecut, CTMH ribbon, button and floss, Cuttlebug

Now, you'll want to head over to Unscripted Sketches for our blogiversary activities.  Several designers are participating in a treausre hunt.  Will you be the one to decipher all the clues and get through the hunt?  I have it on good authority that there will be a prize offered to our winner.  I'm looking forward to going through the hunt myself later on today.

I hope that you have a fabulous Easter weekend.  I'll see you back here tomorrow with my Christmas card.  Take good care my friends.

Hey There

Friday, April 2, 2010

Happy Friday to you!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am.  There's not much to say about my card that you can't already tell except that I just used my bone folder and my paper trimmer to make my score lines and that my ribbon went all wacky.  I've fixed that now.
***Supplies***
Other:  PTI Color Coutre, CTMH ribbon

I hope you have a great Friday.  It's scrapbook night at my house tonight.  As always, it's a toss-up whether I will get anything done or not.  LOL.
