Vacation --Part 1 -- A day in Portland

Monday, July 26, 2010

I'll be dividing up our vacation pictures in several posts because there are so many.  Our first stop was Portland Oregon where we saw my cousin David and his friend.  They took us out to eat at a local pizza place that was within walking distance from his apartment.  We then stopped at a fabulous little place and had chocolates and the yummiest shakes ever.

The next morning,we went to breakfast, again within walking distance and then we left them and headed out on our own.  The Rose Garden along with the zoo were both within walking distance.  Once our car was parked when we arrived, we didn't get back in it until we left.  The Rose Garden was so pretty.

Here's a couple pictures of the kids resting.  I just love Christopher's pose in this one. I wonder what he was thinking about.

There was also a wonderful park real close which had a really fun see saw.  We all had a lot of fun playing on it.

After the park and Rose Garden, we walked just a bit further to the Portland zoo where you take a train ride to the zoo entrance.

After the zoo, we were all definitely exhausted and spent the rest of the evening resting.  It was a great in Portland and I definitely want to go back and spend more time.

My guess, you went to Pizzicato and then across the street to get truffles at Moonstruck, lol. I love the Pearl District of Portland! :)

Looks like you all had a great time. Hopefully next time you come out this way again we can meet up.

Now to scrap them right Alanna? hehe If you were so close, you should have said something. We live about 2 hours from Portland. Not sure how much time we could have had, but would have loved to meet you. Love the pictures and you will have the memories for a long time. I remember when we did road trips as kids with mom and dad...great fun!
