My first Card Patterns card

Sunday, August 30, 2009

I've been checking out the sketches over at Card Patterns for some time now but haven't had a chance to play yet. I had some time yesterday and went to work. My card is also for Sparkle's weekly Christmas card challenge. Have you started making your cards yet? I'm up to almost 40 for the year all ready to send out in December.

I had found some really old paper in my stash and thought that I should use some of it. I think that influenced how the rest of my card went. I'm really not that thrilled with it and everything I did just wasn't working for me. But, it is another Christmas card for my stash, even if it's not what I had envisioned.

***Supplies***
Patterned paper: CTMH but very old
Stamps: CTMH Holiday Warmth
Other: Nesties, CTMH buttons, Cuttlebug

Thanks for stopping by and have a glorious day.

While I don't know what you envisioned, your card is very pretty! I recognize that "old" paper, too, have some, and still love it. That looks like a fun sketch, and your take on it is great!

Alanna,
I love that you're up to 40 cards! WOW! I was prepping for my upcoming road trip with my friends. We won't have much room so I need to take just one, down-sized project to work on in our down time. I hope to have 50 cards (all the same) done by the time we get back. I think it would be uber-cool to have 40 different cards though.

Have a great week!

Wow 40 cards. Good for you!
Your card looks great. But I know what you mean. Sometimes when I finish a card I think, "what happened?"
From the comments I think you are out voted. It is cute.

Well I think this is fabulous! Funny how the cards we always think are "ok" turn out to be the one others like the best. At least, that always happens to me. So glad you could play along with us this week!
