Phase 2

So after Devin got done ripping out the tub and shower, there was a lot of work to do before we could put the new bathtub in. He had to cut all the copper piping because our new tub is a bit bigger. So, he turned off the water, cut the pipes, and saudered them back together. After we put the bathtub in, it was rocking a bit so Devin got online and found that many people will lay cement under the tub to sturdy it up a bit. So, yesterday, the cement mixture was made and poured. I'm happy to say that our tub is now in.

However, do you see the whole in the wall? Because the tub was a bit larger, we weren't able to fit it into the pre-existing spot. So out came the saw. The 2x4's were cut and ripped out. So, that will be a whole other project, to get that all replaced.

Anyway, I'm happy that progress is being made. The next step will to be to put up the boards that the tiles will go on. Oh, I cannot wait until it's all done. I'm excited to soak in my new tub. I wanted to go with a jetted tub but decided that our funds could be better spent elsewhere. But, as I mentioned earlier, this tub is a bit bigger and definitely quite a bit deeper, so yeah!

I seem to have come down with some sort of cold. My head is stuffy, my nose is plugged, and my throat is a bit sore. I'm hoping that it's just a very temporary illness, as I absolutely cannot afford to be sick at this time. I hope that all of you, my dear readers of this little blog, are doing well. Have a joyful Sunday and take care.

Yay! Progress is being made! Isn't that the way with all projects, though...you've got to make adjustments along the way. We call it "just wanting to caulk the tub" in reference to a friend who just wanted to do that and it ended up becoming an entire bathroom remodel. LOL

You know I am envious. One day I will have a functioning master bathroom. Probably when we get ready to sell.

Hang in there - you will soon have a wonderful bathroom! Been there and done that! It takes so much time, and one thing always leads to another (like your wall :-) but you will love it when it's finished! Our new tub is oval and DOES have the jets, but I never use them - just love the DEEP tub so much! Enjoy!

Your new tub is looking good and will feel good once you can get it it. I think HGTV has us thinking that these projects are simple and can be accomplished in a day. Great ideas but not "real life." I hope you feel better soon. Summer colds are no fun.

Looks good! We did that to our br a few years ago but when my hubby put the new tub in it was a little too narrow. The lenght was fine. he had to shim it a lot... yikes
Have fun! Hope you're feeling better!!
